Rhodes was trying to get 20,000 season tickets sold for league two footy on the back of a cheesy video, so you can see why McCall was chosen, no interviews or questions asked.

    So much for that masterplan.

Just noticed we have a full time "performance analyst" in Robbie Bloodworth
Would love to receive a copy of his report on this game

Actually 'contacts in the game' can be applied to every single manager at every single football club.

The period when managers have this as a differentiator is in two periods.

    a. When they first move from playing into management. Contacts are fresh and people are keen to help.

b, During a period of significant success. People are drawn to success and believe it can rub off on them. Old contacts are connecting again and are keen to be involved.

Unfortunately Teflon no longer sits in neither of these.

Change the record, we're all disappointed we're not in the top 4 or so doing well and playing great football, like it or not McCall is the manager until the club says otherwise, you really are bitter and twisted with regards McCall most would think it's more that football you're so vocal about everything he does.

The decision to re-sign DMH is as bad as Bowyer re-signing Anderson and Devine. What were you thinking Stuart?

Many couldnt understand the comment he made when he let the lad go (he could be back) all I can think of it was a decision based on money, as a few weeks later he resigned DMH, it's looking more and more like poor decision.

Are they like the link that Dmitry sends alone with the link to the video of the game if so I doubt very much Rupp would understand it, soft/hard tyres now there a different thing ;).

That's was not what I was suggesting I have no problem with the criticism of McCall or any other manager who is not delivering, but as I said with the likes of yourself and a couple more if seems to go deeper/personal.
When Bowyer, Hopkin of the 3 wise monkeys Collins, Drury and Abbott were in control we rarely had a post from you or the other McCall hater I find that strange because during their tenure things were certainly on a par with now or possibly worse.

didn't realise you were keeping tally on and going through everyone who criticises McCall and other managers posts over the last 4 years - that's very 1984 of you. feels a bit uncomfortable that you're cyber-stalking our posts.

It's so obvious a blind man could see your constant negativity with regards our manager, some might call you a "WUM" trying to get a reaction, oh look your fellow McCall hater likes your post maybe you should get a room and give each other therapy.

jeez, watch your blood pressure bronco - take a seat on that fence of yours, heaven forbid people have an opinion on our supreme leader that doesn't toe the party line.

put your head above the parapet and give us all three reasons why, in this spell as manager, after 100% backing and freedom with his budget, title of manager re-instated, a long pre-season to figure out how to attack the season and to get 'his squad' together - that Stuart McCall is the man to take the club forward into a new era with the supposed new CEO waiting in the wings.

shouldn't be too difficult if he is.

Don't you go worrying about me or my blood pressure, Mr Ford is looking after me, his past tenure at the club has been covered many times and that includes me the past is the past , but just for you I can make it clear.
The first time we all welcomed Stuart back as our new manager as he had done a few seasons as Neil Warnocks assistant and I suggesf that's a pretty good apprenticeship, he came and found he could not bring the sucsess many wanted including himself and offered his resignation because he's an honourable man.
We brought him back the second time when Rahic (remember him) thought he could be Phil Parkinsons assistant offering his wealth of football knowledge to Phil the rest is history, so as neither Rahic of Rupp knew where to turn they asked Julian for his advice , Juilan gave it and Stuart came in for his second stint at the club, Rahic commenting at the time the only knowledge with regards McCall was the video where he fell of the car after the celebrations on winning promotion to the Premiership.
McCall comes in and adds to the squad Parky had left, and I'll repeat they were very good players who gave McCall a good foundation to build on which he did taking us to Wembley a feat Parky couldnt do as a league one club, bearing in mind this was with continual input from Mr "I know football".
Then during that closed season we head rumours about Rahic wanting Stuart to walk away, backed at the time by Rupp, he refused and carried on even having several of his squad let go without any say.
Once again he works wonders with ths players still at his disposal, keeping us in a top 6/7 place even after that poor run just after Christmas/ New Year, that was the time Rahic pushed the players a little too far with his antics, he sacked McCall because he got the adulation of the fan's which Rahic thought he should have been getting.
We were now seeing Rahics true colours he brings in Grayson who see's right through him and says thanks but no thanks, after interviewing several top quality candidates he promotes Collins assisted by Drury and helped out by Abbott, what great appointments they turned out to be.
In comes Hopkin trying to get a tune from the squad tweddle dee and tweddle dumb had put together, failed and walked, Bowyer comes in with a decent CV failure yet again, so IMO Julian who is now back at the club brings McCall back and hoped for a new manager bounce which didnt happened we are now 7 games into a new campaign and some are calling for the managers head, I personally think it's a little premature but a defeat at Bolton I believe would add more pressure on Stuart, he has to start getting results or there is only the one concution and that will be he gets the push.
Is that clear enoug for you I'm sure it's a different interpretation than yours but I believe it to be fair comment.

Probably qualifies as a ‘home grown player’? To qualify as club developed, a player must have been registered to the club for at least a year before his under 19s season ends. Motley Henry was on the books in 2014-2016. It is another reason that you see a larger number of former youth players in the first team squad.
33.8 Home Grown Players. Each Club shall be required to nominate a minimum of seven Home Grown Players on their Team Sheet of Players for all League Competition Matches. https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/section-5--fixtures/

maybe you need to read my question again, Bronco - three reasons why in this spell as manager he is right to take us forward.

Let me be clear I am not being pro or anti Bowyer but I love the spin you put on his time “Failure Yet again”. He had been in charge 11 months, we were 9th, 4 points from the playoffs with a record of W14 D12 L11 and your are describing it as a failure.

Collins was an odd appointment but he was given the job in June and fired in September by the same medling Rahic you use as an excuse for Teflon’s failures in spell 2. He didn’t exactly get a fair shake did he but you say “What great appointments they turned out to be”

You are a Teflon apologist. There is always a reason why he isn’t to blame. Edin, Covid, money, inexperience, offside goal, time and on and on and on.

Like other long-standing City fans I watched Stuart in both his spells as a player and hero worshipped him. So I'm automatically well disposed to him and probably cut him more slack than some others do. I'd love to see us prosper on his watch.
I was disappointed when he was appointed manager here for the first time because I felt it was too early, which proved correct.
I think he did an excellent job in his second managerial spell here. Yes, he had the bulk of PP's team to build on, but he built on it well. He took us to the brink of promotion, playing our best football since the Mills/Blake/Beagrie era, despite the malevolent force of Rahic constantly putting his nose in where it wasn't wanted. The following season he'd kept us in the playoffs by Christmas despite an unprecedented injury list and Rahic openly undermining his decisions and manoeuvring to get him out. His sacking was a disgrace and we've paid for that in spades with a series of failed managers since.
His latest appointment smacked of desperation by a rudderless club on a downward trajectory.

I don't think SM is at all suited to working with L2 players. He was a PL and international player and thinks like one. He wants a level of flexibility and tactical nous that most L2 players aren't capable of delivering. His constant selection tinkering and formation changes aren't producing the intended effect of countering opposition strengths. It's simply making us look confused and disorganised. We have too few good players, but even those we have look uncertain and are playing below their capabilities. Our strike force is poor; they are going to miss lots of chances, so we have to find a way of creating more chances or our goals will dry up completely. We also have to be miserly at the back. Neither of these objectives will be achieved by constant changing of tactics, formation and personnel. Somehow he has to find a system that best suits the players we have and stick to it.
I don't think that sacking Stuart mid season is going to get us far. We have to try to get off the merry go round and find some consistency. With an uninterested owner and a stand-in CEO we are treading water, or possibly slowly sinking. Just changing the manager isn't going to alter that. We need this new CEO and a reboot really badly. Somehow we have to find a positive plan and direction and it needs fresh ideas at board level to do that.
