again Bronco, you are going back to his first and second spell in charge and the decision made by others as to why he was brought back for a third.

I want to know why you personally think that during the current spell (his third) not before, from what he has done since he walked back through the door in February 2020, he is the right man to take us forward. what have you seen either on the pitch or off it to think he is the right man?

my answer re block D was to your question as to where I was when Hopkin and Collins were failing. I was sat in block D watching it.

Trump has even less to do with my comment, but it didn't stop you.

And yes, you're bang in line with Edin in your distaste for Stuart.

This season isn't so bad he needs sacking.

That's pretty much a categorical fact - you're predicting it will be bad enough to sack him, but that's just a prediction.

Jon, you seem like a sensible chap so I'll ask you the same question as I've asked others (and maybe I'll actually get an answer from you).. this isn't about whether he should be sacked or not but what have you personally seen since McCall walked back through the door at the start of February 2020 to give you the trust and confidence that he is the man to take us forward?

please don't mention his time as a player or his 1st or 2nd spell in charge.

I have been critical of his tenure so far this season 2020/21 no Bradford City fan can be happy, but he's 7 games into a new season and no one can doubt most of the performances have been poor, he has to get his points over to the players and get them to believe in themselves and we have to improve or he will go the same way as any other manager who cant deliver.

Here's a post where you told me to stop making excuses for him this was my reply I criticise him maybe not as OTT as others.

In reply to your highlighted above I was asking with regards your input on the forum not your attendance at the ground, Bowyers final couple of months were also dire.

great but you still haven't provided any examples of things you have seen that show why he can take us forward. Bowyer's last few months were dire, so have McCall's past 8.

I'm not sure how much emphasis has been placed on 'taking us forward', is my honest answer.

As I've said, he's been asked to cut his cloth, the wage bill has been slashed, no two ways about it, and many of the weaker players here were signed by other managers - instead of going out and signing a slew of players, Stuart has had to settle for experienced utility players, and I imagine he's been 'encouraged' to blood the youngsters in a season of financial consolidation.

The main thing he's been asked for, in my opinion, in terms of 'taking us forward' is putting us in a better, stronger position than the last couple of seasons. While the quality doesn't look to have either gone up or down, we have saved money while maintaining the standard.

Now if City had come out and said promotion is a must this season, that would absolutely be the right question - but given that Stuart and the coaching staff seem to be the only one making that aim a demand, I don't see how the fanbase can be upset with McCall at this point in time.

You're very selective with your comments, you accuse me of not replying to your comments, when I do you completely ignore them, what don't you understand about " but he's 7 games into a new season and no one can doubt most of the performances have been poor" I was hoping he could have done similar to his second spell at the club, but I cant use that as an example, still not replied with regard why you wasn't as active on here during the dire days under Hopkin and Bowyer you twist it to imply I was asking if you attended games which I didn't as you well now, we'll leave it there your obliviously what you accused me of being in a reply to @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart.

Bronco, in complete agreement with your analysis. Stuart was the right appointment at the time. But now further time will tell. He needs to get some good quick results. I think what's really damaged him twice in succession ( Harrogate and Newport) is saying he got the tactics totally wrong. I can understand why other posters are aghast at this - he's managed at Rangers, Motherwell, Scunthorpe and City x 4, and it is a worry for fans when a manager with this degree of experience doesn't seem to know what his best tactics are. BUT he's here and now, and can only be judged on how he turns this around. Or not. Go well, fellah!

I honestly believe bringing him back was with regards still having a chance of a play off place, if the club had advertised for a new manager and gone through interviews process etc we could have been a month further down the line and still no better off.
I could be wrong but if it was just the old pals act why didn't the club say he's been given a two year deal, hopefully to get us a play off place this season, (I accept the way it was panning out there was little chance of that) but if not weigh up the strengths and weakness of last seasons squad and build for the coming season with a serious challenge for an auto in season 2021/22.
I believe his 12 month contract will be up On 4 February 2021 so he'd better be a miracle worker with some of the present squad or he could be down the road, just for balance McCall has to take responsibility for our poor performances so far this season, the Bolton game will be a good test of two teams many thought would be doing better.

Yep, it is SO a results based industry right now. Bolton will be a key game, all the way round.
