Made hard work of that, they were poor, but a very welcome three points. Still lacking 2 or 3 decent players. Thought Sutton and French played well.

 

Agreed. If we could get a nippy, fox in the box type to play alongside him we'd be ok. Our attacking build up play is starting to look quite impressive at times.

 

If Stevenage had won today they would have been top. CRAZY!

 

That was a half decent performance, Clarke was good, Novak scored 2 of 3 chances (all strikers miss chances), for me Guthrie looks so slow and is the weak link.

 

Decent performance. Very unlucky to go behind (although poor defending), but Stevenage looked a decent side - nothing in the Bolton class!

I went City 2 Stevenage 3 in prediction league based on our makeshift defence. Their goal seems to suggest that our defence wasn't really at it but how much did O'Donnell have to do? Anyway, glad to be wrong. This is not the same Stevenage team as last year, so a good 3 points all things considered.

 

Made hardwork of that but thought French yet again was superb sutton is that tigerish midfielder we required. Defo a lack of pace is a worry but hopefully that will be addressed.

 

Can only think Stuart sees he has no confidence and knows Donaldson isn't fit so is just keeping him on in the hope he scores.

 

Need more composure all over the field - hopefully will come with successful results as players gain confidence.

 

French has had a good start to the season and has got two assists now. More than DMH and Ismail who have probably had the same amount of opportunity so fair play to him. Hope he can keep his place.

 

True mate, Novak's not the classiest no.9 but he's effective. With a decent partner who knows. McCall must agree with us that Donaldson's legs have gone.

 

Hope we get another right sided defensive player so that Sutton can play in the middle of the park where he'll hopefully have a good impact.

 

Played some decent football at times but so badly need a striker and our defence is so shaky. Having said that we did have two regular centre backs missing. Pleased with French and Sutton and much as Novak misses a few he’s now scored four this season.

Agreed. But, on the other hand, we played some lovely one touch, pass & move football at times today. Billy Clarke was superb and Sutton & Watt both look good players who combine creativity with some grit. A decent finisher to play alongside Novak would see us give most defences in this league problems.

 

I like Novak, he gets himself into some really good positions, granted he should be scoring some of the chances that he misses, but I think if you give him two really good chances, he'll score one of them. Given that we are playing in league two, there aren't many better strikers than that.
