It is blatantly obvious, that this season is all about survival . If we can manage to get through , to next season with as little damage as possible, then i think we will be the better for it. Many lower league clubs might not survive, without serious financial help from somewhere. How many owners will be willing to keep funding clubs from their own pockets or decide to cut thier loses. Lets hope Steffan is the former.
I hope that the message gets through, that this virus can be a killer and we all have a collective responsabillity to each other.
I wont hold my breath though, it has already been shown , that some people just dont give a damn about others.

I am certain you are right Andy and the more I think about it the more I believe the club are not committing to signings is because of the massive doubts as to whether or not fans will come back at all this year and even more so will the season actually be completed. The financial implications could be catastrophic for so many lower league and non league clubs - I hate saying this because we all want to see positive action at our club but perhaps, as you say, it is all about survival and the Covid issues are not going to go away

Have the league said what happens if the season is stopped early?

Is there a cut off by which time the league is classed as done ?

No way will the season finish we are heading for another full lockdown very shortly
Doris tightening restrictions is a pre cursor for things to come
He has lost control of how he wants the public to conduct themselves and thanks to his obnoxious mate a full lockdown is neigh on impossible
Football will be suspended before Christmas and this season will be null and void with the league putting the onus on the clubs if they give a refund to season ticket holders
Good luck with that one to our season ticket holders

98.7% (at least) survival rate? Don’t really need good luck. Simple common practice and sense will increase that percentage further. I really see no issue with 5,000 fans in a 25,000 seater stadium with no away fans. Continue being petrified to live, it’s no existence.

Why not try for 100% and avoid any possibility of catching it.
Not petrified, happy to follow the rules and exist.

Because that's not even remotely plausible.

So you are happy for around 858,000 people to lose their lives based on your logic?

People panic buying toliet rolls tells you everything you need to know. I haven't once thought about the virus other than to follow the rules of hand washing and safe distancing.I don't listen to the media about it either. I'd rather not catch the virus but it is what it is

No, I’m not happy. But death is part of life. Over 50,000 died in 2017/18 of flu, where was the social distancing outcry then? God knows how many thousands die of various ailments each year. It’s the circle of life. If you’re lucky you live a long happy life and pass in your sleep. That’s not the case for the majority of us unfortunately.

Oh come on, how do you expect him to answer that? Yes he's happy that people die?

Not to pile on more misery, but there is this

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/54246745

Just going to have to work out ways for clubs and pubs and theaters etc to survive this winter.
    It can be done.
    It has to be done.

Are flu deaths calculated on the same basis as Covid deaths?

If a person dies having tested positive for COVID, then Covid is recorded as the cause of death - regardless of other morbidity factors or ailments, I believe? Does the same apply to the Flu?

    https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/514915-is-us-covid-19-death-count-inflated

‘On August 26, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a report showing that in 94 percent of the roughly 180,000 deaths that have been attributed to COVID-19, “on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.”

As the CDC report notes, “For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.”

In other words, 94 percent of Americans who have died from coronavirus from the week ending February 1, 2020 to the week ending August 22, 2020 had, on average, almost three comorbidities that played a role in their death.’
