There are fans out there with no experience in the professional ranks who can name you better central midfielders than Hope Akpan. You yourself have put forward Matt Crooks and Tom Eaves as better alternatives to the ones signed by the professionals, but best leave it to the experts, they know what they are doing:

Just a thought, but I wonder if the signings for other positions are delayed because we are busy scrambling around trying to sign Vaughan's replacement? I guess under the salary cap we won't know how much we can afford to offer other players until we know how much we will be paying the new striker, which I guess comes down to how desperate we are...

We are almost certainly below half way in the league in the ambition stakes. Not holding much hope for this season to be fair. At present I'm thinking 12th to 18th based on squad. I would love to be proved wrong.
