True Doyle has always been hit and miss at the end of the relegation season most people weren’t bothered he was going and when we tried to sell him no one was interested

I would have thought Vaughan was on more than 3k a week?

To be self sustainable and successful is very rare but being self sustainable relies on success. I can only think of Burton who have done it or Accrington over the past couple of years.
What we have to ask is how we define self sustainable in relation to ourselves? In relation to us we were self sustainable because the success Parkinson had with the cup runs and promotion and the subsequent sale of Nahki Wells. The only other way is to base your ougoings on your incomings, great in theory but in practice limits your ambition. Parky wouldn't have had the success we had if the board hadn't gone out on a limb and backed him, the cup runs and promotion thus wouldn't have happened. Its a tough juggling act but in truth success and self sustainabilty doesn't go hand in hand, it might give you a football team to support but that support will soon dwindle without the dangling carrot of success in front of them.

Might have been, i'm sure someone told me he took the longer contract offer on less money as security.

I personally think we will keep Vaughan till at least January as if he is scoring on a regular basis more chance of a move to league 1 and the salary cap doesn’t really come into effect until 21/22 season

Once the salary cap comes if it does he would have to move on much less money unless a club were going to massively cut down elsewhere

Mate..Grimsby! Bloody Grimsby. Even Hanson looks good for them.

They spent about 99.9% in the bottom half of Div 2.

It's an extremely poor backwards signing!

Please drop the Salary Cap talk, it's boring like Ryan.

It's not in as yet..Is It? So no need to talk about it! The new season looks like it will start in 8 weeks and I very much doubt a salary cap will come in to play now or it will have more holes than a midget pair of knackers.

I think Holloway would be a good manager for us. He seems to get the best out of what he has.

Yeah, I agree but we we always play it safe and he would challenge Rhodes.

This is true, the club has said half of the proposed cap is tied up in the existing players but they don't count next season.

Just to throw an idea out there, would people be happy if we got rid of Vaughan to a league one club and signed hiwula instead. I've heard hes looking at lower league one clubs and top end league 2 clubs. I know hes not the best finisher but hes got pace and this team is so short of pace and he did get double figures with us in league one last time?

Well listening to Neville a the minute seems like he is against Salary Capping and saying that owners should be responsible for the club debt and have a sustainability model which I agree..Have a fund in which the owner have to put down to protect the club. Bradford City need something like this as we have no bloody assets.

Ryan isn't talking about that is he? Rupp loaning the club 1.9m and the rest is a Joke. Like Neville has said if owners can't afford to operate a club then they need to leave but don't put the debt on the club or make it harder for new buyers to come in.

I very much doubt the salary cap will be in place. What Bradford City fans should be concerned about is the excuses Ryan is making, the non communication from Rhodes and what Rupp really wants to do with the club.

Yes, we made a signing of a players worse than Danny Devine it seems and linked with Billy bloody Clarke but after them two poor signings I expect quality.

No more excuses.1400 players on free transfers and the best we can do is Sutton and Clarke - COME ON!

Good question. I would like to see Hiwula back, he would give us that much needed pace option up front and I think he would do very well in league 2 if he could be persuaded to drop to our level. Whether I would sacrifice Vaughan to enable that though is tricky. If McCall can get Vaughan settled here again and play to his strengths, again, he should do very well.

Can I be greedy and want them both and look to offload someone else?

Think that would be the best thing for promotion but it's the salary cap that could be the problem there. Tbh novak and hiwula would be a good strike force with Donaldson from bench then get rid of Guthrie or if Donaldson wants big wages get rid of him

I'm interested to know how the Salford model works. I know that Lim is the billionaire money man and the class of 92 are all part owners but its costing them losses of millions a season. Now correct if i'm wrong but no business man on this planet runs a business knowing it will lose millions without some sort of plan at the end of it. This Lim guy is that rich he might not mind losing millions on a vanity project with his pal Neville but i don't believe that for one minute. A salary cap would kill their progress. So who and how are they financing this rise through the league?

the Don needs to hang up his boots, 36 year old crock, 5 goals in two years is shocking and only gonna get worse, even Hanson would be a major upgrade! Hiwula would do well for us.

Donaldson gives you much more than goals he holds the ball up draws players and creates space just as Jon Stead he picked up a broken foot before that he was looking fitter than some 20 year olds

I don’t understand the fascination with Hiwula. A bang average 1 in 4 striker.
