They'll be looking to offload him right up to deadline day, his wages will pay for 3 players on the current grand a week they are aiming at. Getting someone to take Vaughan on those wages is another matter.

Typical Rhodes. Get rid of a player with ability to save some cash and replace them with shite on peanuts. If Stuart wants to keep him he needs to put his foot down because replacing vaughan with anyone willing to play on 1k a week will be a shambles.

Let's hope we learned from the Doyle debacle last term.

Providing he is up for it with us Vaughan will be here he doesn’t count for the salary cap there is no reason why he should be sold

Doyle must look back at his 2 years at Bradford as being the worst of his career. Didn't help him coming in the worst two year i've seen of nearly 40 years of supporting city. Wellens showed what a decent manager with a plan could do with Doyle, problem was in his time at City he had Micky Collins, David Hopkin and Gary Bowyer. How unlucky is that?

3 grand a week wages when we are looking to trim the wage bill goes a long way.

Can't see us signing Callum Cooke as we wont be able to afford him. We will be looking to spend as little as possible so only free transfers and tiny wages.

He barely scored for us, Hibernian and Preston. He was in a shit situation for us but barely a world beater.

No we are trying to bring the wage bill down regardless of the salary cap. We can't afford 3 grand wages if we are looking for self sustainability. Its not a case of McCall not wanting Vaughan, more a case of the club seeing the wages being used elsewhere.

A world beater wouldn't be within 500 miles of Valley Parade, what we did have was a guy who can score regularly at lower league level if utilised properly. Just at the club at the wrong time, a club in utter freefall not helped by 3 of the worst managers we've ever had.

Contracted players still count towards the salary cap. It’s a percentage but not sure what the figure is.

Decent managers build around their better players and play to their strengths. Hopkin and Bowyer are either clueless or arrogant. Or more likely a lot of both.

Collins was the best manager of those 3.

the lads we are bringing in are on around a grand a week, give or take a bit. Do players take the low offers and give themselves a wage for 12 months or do they risk waiting to be picked up on a better offer? Its a tough call, you don't want to get left on the shelf with there being so many players and too few offers.

I expected better from too supposedly experienced players. Collins was useless but thrown in at the deep end, the other two actually fancy themselves as managers. Still can't believe how bad Bowyer was, completely clueless.

Correct, but I wouldn't think you'll have £3k a week to shell out elseware.

Let say Tranmere want him back. They may offer him £1.5k a week for 2 years.
But he has a contract here for another 2 years at £3k. The player wont take that £1.5k hit.
What will have to happen at a minium is that we pay him off £156k ie £1.5k for 104 weeks of his remaining contract and then he could sign for Tranmere and wouldn't be out of pocket.
Otherwise he has the option of sitting on the remaining contract. We also have the option of not selecting him, but are we in a position to let him sit on his 'arris earning £3k a week.
So you're not saving yourself £3k a week, in reality it's half that.

and rightly so. The club needs to cut it's cloth. More income, more revenue to spend. Less income, less spending power.

I am a supporter of clubs being sustainable and not relying on owners deep pockets.

Bradford is a big city if it can't generate the income to support at least a Div 1, mid table Championship side then the city simply doesn't deserve one.

Outside of the Premiership and a few clubs at the top end of the Championship clubs need to be self sustaining.

Collins was a coach not a manager we were led to believe.

That’s speculation the club haven’t said that the wage bill will be reduced anyway because of the salary cap it will be down to the player.
