We can't say we will be better next season when we operate like we did in the last transfer window and we sit 9th in an awful league.

Ok, well instead of being naive and defending Rhodes... admit what the problem is then! Face up to it but you can't.. so you will attack me because you have to defend Rhodes and Rupp because you can't see the real problems.

What's boring is accepting failure, seeing a club 9th in div 2 without a long term plan for success. That's boring!

I suppose why I drill the message home so much is because I see weakness in our fan base! Most of our fans are weak minded.

@Bronco loves Rhodes more than than club and he did with Bowyer. He can't even bring himself to say Rhodes now needs to go and defended Bowyer like he was a family member.

So, don't take it out on me...look at the club and the bigger picture!

The most successful clubs are the ones with a long term plan, they may have various setbacks over that time such as a relegation, especially when you've over achieved, but when the dust settles these clubs will be either near or above their target.
Our most successful period of late was all down to our management having a plan and Lawn and Rhodes buying into it. Parkinson kept it simple and the budget was put into the first team.
Football isn't rocket science. Probably the most simple sport out there. Now down to McCall and Black showing Rupp what their plan is and for him to say how far he will back it.

 

I don’t disagree with any of this post. I have agreed with every single post that wants both an interim plan to get us out of this league and a long term plan for the future.

I am becoming irritated at the ‘baying at the moon tactics’ of @Fordy117 who appears or fails to understand that Rupp is going nowhere until he receives enough money from another buyer. Rhodes is also staying as far as I can see to hold it all together.

I have now been labelled naive by two ppl on this forum because I believed what they said, I have now been provided with evidence that they were either lying or misrepresenting their part in our first admin. Rupp on the other hand says nothing and therefore his intentions and plans are the subject of speculations. We will have to wait and see what his actions are with regard to funding this club going forward. However, once I discover that someone has lied, I very rarely trust them again, they will need to work double time to put my mistrust of them to bed.

I agree SMc and KB will need to put their own plan to both Rhodes and Rupp and hopefully succeed in gaining the funds. I think we need a good quality albeit smaller squad, but I also want to see some thoughts and funding into the structure behind the manager.

 

You have not one jot of evidence to back up your rant at me. I have backed you when you have been thoughtful and sensible in your posts, but it annoys me when I have to skip your posts. You have picked up on a @Dennis post where he is taking me to task for believing Rhodes account of the first admin and has called me naive. He has presented me with evidence that he holds that disputes what we were told. This is evidence that I cannot and will not ignore, and I have never heard before.


Obviously you have no idea who I am apart from my posts on here, but I laughed when you called me naive, as in my profession when I was working the very last thing anybody would call me is naive. Often in areas of professions that we do not have expertise, finds us looking for evidence and understanding of what we are looking at. I do realise that you like to paint with an enormous wide brush, but you miss so much if you do that.

I am aware of their commitment to the club. However, I cannot overlook that they paid themselves dividends when the club was in debt. I am not a financial expert, but they must have signed papers to allow this debt to be incurred, at the same time or shortly after they paid themselves dividends. That to me is the equivalent of going on a luxury cruise and maxing the credit card out, with no guarantees on how they were going to pay it back. It is complete contrast to how Rhodes has operated since. The club was in no position to pay shareholder dividends, they must have known that?

 

The club was in profit at the time but the dividends turned into a loss.
The administrators found it acceptable that dividends were taken and after the event during administration the Rhodes family paid it all back and more

 

@Dennis you understand what went on better than most. What's the real picture of the Rhodes tenure at Bradford City?

 

This is what happens every time this issue comes up. If they paid it back, is there any evidence that this happened?

 

Look me and @Dennis have had run in's and I respect him as a mod and a poster but I don't agree with everything he says.

As, for me backing things up, as much as you say I am boring well this site is in major danger if everything has to be factual and I am sure @king karl doesn't want a boring site in which it's just based on facts!

I suppose my point about Rhodes and Rupp has been drilled home plenty of times and it's out of frustration. I read comments from yourself and others says Rupp is here, nothing we can do blah blah but it's like we accept anything.

McCall comes back - yeah, let's all accept it
Rupp - is not investing in us and couldn't care- Yeah let's all accept it
Rhodes - is running the club to the ground - yeah let's all accept it.

Liverpool would be be struggling right now if the fans didn't come together to get their previous owners out.

Newcastle fans, Man Utd fans. Blackpool fans.

Now, yes some owners will stay and people will think what's the point in trying? Well the point is they care and they want BETTER! They want to try to make a difference!

So, yes I don't know you but I care about Bradford City and what I see is too many fans thinking about cheap season tickets instead of wanting what's best for the club.
