I dont care whether it's this one or another one, but I think we need a centralised thread for the growing number of questions regarding the future direction on this club.

It would seem that more and more fans sense we're at something of a crossroads. I dont mean disgruntelment at our league position, or form, or manager or even the players. I'm talking about the strategic plan for the future of the club. There would appear to be many critical elements of the infrastructure of this club that need investment - the pitch, our scouting and coaching facilities, a number of services within the ground etc.

Our strategy over recent years has been to under price tickets, maximise funds to the first team playing budget and hope for sell on clauses and cup runs. It isnt working. It's short term thinking and doesnt create any sort of legacy for the future.
The game's changing, society is changing and we risk being left behind. In fact, I think we already are.

It feels like there needs to be some sort of constructive dialogue with the club to explore what our strategic options could and should be, and to what extent the owner, board and supporters each have a role to play.

This forum has a role to play in engaging with the club. I think we need a carefully moderated, constructive way of collating the voice of the fans to help facilitate some open, honest and tough discussions. Discusssions that dont seek to assign blame or wallow in the past. We need to start thinking about the future and stop living season to season.

    Simple..

    Rupp sales.
    Rhodes leaves.

If Rupp stays then he needs to get rid of Rhodes.

Barring that I am offering nothing else.

We will not move forward under Rhodes! Rupp is just one of the worst owner we have ever had.. the man is a joker!

I still don't think Rhodes needs to leave, he's perfectly capable of making sure we have a decent bottom line, you know what I think we need to add though I've said it enough times: DoF.

I assume you mean sell ?
Unfortunately Fordy it's a bit like buying house's.
What you think it's worth, aint the majority of the time what someone would to shell out for it.

We have an impasse until , as In undersand it .
The current owner has a head shake to what he paid for the club / to what he thinks it's worth / to against what anyone will pay for it.

Still waiting for Galloway's Arab mate to buy us as he promised (Anther c~~t) and pump sh!t loads in

    Yes mate sell.

No, not waiting for the Arab.

Just want rid of Rupp. Just think Edin & Rupp show needs to end and the club need rid of both of them now. One has left the building and now we need the other fake to f@ck off.

Some fans go on about cheap tickets holding us back. Some go on about Rhodes holding us back.

Truth is, we had several years of progression under Rhodes and cheap season tickets culminating in us being one game off being back in the Championship.

Then one man, Rahic, blew that all out of the water

There is no reason why we cannot turn it around again. Rupp needs to adequately back McCall in the summer and let him get on with rebuilding.

We also need to appoint a chief scout to assist McCall and Black identifying the right players with the right character to come in

Ive given up on this current squad and season, but have faith that McCall and Black will get it right in the summer and next season

The cheap season tickets worked because of Parky and the cup runs!

Football has changed. Teams have overtaken us.

You can blame Edin but you have to blame Rupp as well! Rupp was involved mate and now he's involved in taking us further backwards

It really all comes down to a good manager. At any level in football if you don’t have that right and don’t give them time to succeed you will not be successful. McCall has that time due to his reputation as a player and we have to give him time and stop this nonsense of we are Too big for this league etc. It will take time to get out as bad as we think it is.

We struck gold with Parky. I think he could go down as one of the most successful managers of league one and league two in the last decade. He took us to a cup final and a quarter final of another when we had zero real success before him for the previous 20 years. He took us up a league and made us competitive in league one straight away and was not far away from taking us to the championship. he then took Bolton up and kept them up with a lot going on behind the scenes. And he now looks to have got Sunderland motoring and take them up again where others have failed.

I worry we had the best manager we may have for a very long time and we are now going to bumble around for years. I am not sure we realise how good we had it with Parky

And there is my immediate issue, cannot see how or why he is going to.
We can discuss each and relevant part of Bradford City , but when the owner/majority shareholder quite brazenly accept's he has no real interest in football . I therefore can't see honestly a long term financial commitment from him.
When I say financial commitment I mean deep pockets, because that is what it takes even at our Khazi level.

What we all need is information that we can properly assess as to how the club intends to move forward. For me that starts right at the top. Rupp and Rahic have basically demolished our club and sent us to the basement. Since they arrived, we have had 7 manager appointments! They pushed our very successful manager out of the door, and it has been a revolving door ever since.

Stefan Rupp told us when they arrived that it was for the long term and he did not expect an instant return. However, since then his previous partner’s business plan was dreamt up after a good night out and has predictably hit the skids. Now what I want to hear from Stefan is what are his intentions; does he intend to stay as promised, or does he now want to leave as soon as possible. However, his estimate of our club’s worth is off the scale and sitting in situ until somebody with loads of money comes along is not really an option. This club needs financial investment it cannot just be left sitting in the basement as we will go bust, our expenditure as most clubs in the lower divisions outstrips our income, and without cup runs and player sales we will start to accumulate debt. It is the same as a house you can’t sell, you still have to keep it in good repair and ready to sell and you may also have to take a financial hit.

I believe we have the right manager, yes he will make mistakes, but he is fully committed to this club. He will need in the short term a very healthy budget to build a squad to get us out of the basement and even then there are no guarantees. Let’s look to support him before considering sacking him, because our lack of an overall plan for the squad and the lack of management stability is the foundation for failure.

The above is a short term plan 2/3 seasons, we also need a 5/10 year plan and that will depend on where we are going and who will be driving the car. However, whatever way we go, the fans are the lifeblood of this club, they are not children to be pacified, they can cope with bad news, we have had plenty to deal with over the years; yes they maybe angry, but that will settle and then we can get on with supporting this club. The reason I am saying this is because normally when ppl or the board in this case don’t want to inform fans it is probably bad news.

reputation from a playing career should not afford you time in your managerial career - they are not mutually exclusive.

the club needs a complete change of mentality from top to bottom; from boardroom to in the stands.

how many seasons have we written off half way through due to a change in manager and afforded them the excuse of 'oh, it's not their team or their squad - give them the summer to build their own team.' it happened with Grayson, with Hopkin after Collins, with Bowyer after Hopkin and now McCall after Bowyer.

unfortunately from top to bottom this club lacks the mentality to be successful - the same as the city on a whole.

Rhodes and Lawn failed to capitalise on the opportunity to raise ticket prices even a small percentage post cup runs, promotion and Wembley - people now expect success for their £150 not realising just how lucky we were that in those years everything just clicked. any attempt to raise prices now and the consumer leaves because the product is worse.

comparing our situation to theirs is comparing apples to oranges. United will eventually spend their way out of their predicaments - we don't have such luxuries.

I have a lot of issue's with Mark Lawn, but after nearly 4 years since he departed the club, raising ticket prices ain't one of them

But the consumer uptake are lesser year on year and likely to continue next season. Lesser uptake by the consumer at the exact same price, would indicate you would have to cut your cloth accordingly. Like the pitch, backroom staff...

What next season as revenues continue to fall?
