    Even if we do our recruitment policy has to change. Who out of our current players is a saleable asset? Where is the next Mcburnie money gonna come from? We have to stop going from season to season with a “big budget” and signing quick fix type players who are here for the good wages.

    definitely. Not blaming Bowyer for it. It’s the short sighted way we approach every transfer window. Still wasting a lot of money

    Agree with this, but in league 2 imo the aim is too just get out ASAP. But we definitely need a coherent plan in the future. Unfortunately we never have had one, and probably won’t anytime soon. The closest we’ve come to one was under Ritchie and Rahic, but it was done totally on the cheap.

    Just looking at the points covered in the meeting, it seems to look at a lot of the issues raised on BT. Not sure if @Jason McKeown@Jason McKeown got to discuss some of the other matters.
    They were:
    • Possible green energy solutions, such as solar power.
    • Does Bowyer have loan players with a ‘must play if fit’, clause.
    • State of parts of the Kop.
    • Fan Zone
    If not covered at the meeting last night, then perhaps they could be addressed in the future.

    I have covered in numerous posts how we seem to have a surfeit of midfield players. I think it is 12 in total (depends on how you classify McCartan). Akpan, Gibson (who is likely to be on a lower salary) McCartan and Reeves are the only ‘contracted’ players from last season. The club gave fresh Contracts to Divine and Anderson and has brought in another six midfielders. I can see a need for 9 perhaps 10 at the very most. I would rather the midfield budget was spent on some better quality players, rather than have so many who seem to offer a very similar ‘limited’ style of play. That and/or get another coach in!

    I could understand it a bit more if we played 5 across the middle or even 6 but we don’t. We play 3 and central ones regardless of how many we play at the back. It is baffling

    Most of that 60% will become available this summer. This could well be why Bowyer referred to the three transfer windows. It is only on this 'third' window that Bowyer will have 'control' over most of the playing budget.

    That's very true. But a big slice of the commitment to earlier signings disappeared when Scannell left the club.

    Hopefully, we'll be spending next season's budget on Div 1 players who really do want to play for our club! That still leaves a legacy of those recruited largely under the current regime who simply won't be good enough if we manage to get promoted.

    MY great thanks go to @Jason McKeown@Jason McKeown from WOAP, who has delivered a good account of the meeting.
    The LARGEST disappointment is not ONE individual from BT put them selves forward !!
    I read the constant daily drivel on this Forum, but from all the critics, not ONE wanted a stage to stand upon ! :confused:

    Had I been fit and able to travel, MY name would have been the first (the only one ?) on the list.
    WHY, oh why does this forum have SO, SO many moaners, yet they can't be arsed to attend a 'local meeting' ? 'Cos they're full of hot air and schitt - that's why .............. OK with you @Fordy117@Fordy117 ????

    Why expect Bowyer to deliver, when 'supporters' can't be 'bovered' ? Shame on us all. :(

    Usual rumour was kicking about pre-Xmas was a consortium including Baldwin/Glen Ackroyd/Mitton guys .
    it's done the rounds a couple of times now without much foundation.
    Obviously Baldwin going to the EFL knacks that for either scenario
