Still have a sneaking suspicion that he'll be at Swindon come 1st Feb

Can't see it, the board and Bowyer would get hell for it.

I really don't get these conspiracy theories. If he was staying at Swindon he wouldn't have been recalled as they would have coughed up whatever we wanted. Clearly they haven't because with the likes of Brett Pitman as an alternative, they realise they don't have to do something stupid

And why on earth would Bowyer wax lyrical about creating chances for him

I swear if we get promotion, so on here will still query it :)

Only way he is going is to another club is for a fee, but why would they do that when they can't play him

My guess is that he will be on the subs bench on Sat, Vaughn will pick up a booking as usual that means first home game Doyle and Donaldson/Remi O either way good luck to the lad I am sure he will do a good job in this team with 14/15,000 fans behind him.

And this is all he's got? Desperate attempt to remind Doyle that they still love him?

Wellens continues to show his naivety as a manager - he's going to start undermining their team spirit, if he continues to sound so desperate for a player

I think we see them in the same way, but just call them something different. To me a defensive midfielder is a CDM is a player who stays back all the time

If I was a Swindon fan I would be extremely embarrassed.

He's starting to become an embarrassment.

We've recalled him.. Swindon clearly haven't made a suitable offer. He can talk all he wants until an offer and a big one comes in then they is nothing to discuss and I doubt we will do business with Swindon now even if one comes in.

Wellens needs to learn how to move on.. sounds like a baby!

This is a manager that has had his best player taken off him, and he wishes to try and calm the fans and throw fuel on the situation. There is no way we would allow him to stay unless they cough up an amount of money that compensates us for our player. They haven’t end of discussion.

Forget Swindon! They must be worried they’ll blow it from here on in. We now have great expectations. Let’s see where the two teams are after the next five or six games. It’s possible Swindon might lose Yates as well.

Was he wearing a nappy in that press conference?

6 months to sort a deal out. Didn't! Move on!

Really think we're going to play games now?

I'm not convinced Doyle wanted to sign for Swindon for a length of time. If he's getting his wages and playing then he will be happy.

Wellens knows that replacing a 23 goal man is tough. Swindon Town fans that soft and foolish? They should be mad at the Swindon board and not fall for these words.

He needs to move on and grow up!

Swindon owe it to their fans to concentrate on getting a replacement not talk nonsense about something they had and let go.

Now that would be very regrettable for his career! None of us are daft, and neither are potential future managers. He has the opportunity to gain a very lucrative contract in the summer, which would benefit his career and family. He is prepared to sit it out until the summer out of some misplaced loyalty to Swindon. 6 months is a long time in football. Wellens could sacked or leave, then would he want to return. Endless conundrums could occur.
Doyle is staying and he will play on Saturday either off the bench or start.

Yes indeed Doyle can write himself into the record books as leading scorer, maybe chalk up two promotions in one season and at the age of 31 get his last big payday. My guess is next season he will be with the club that gives him the best signing on fee and it won’t be City or Swindon. He’ll certainly be trying his best for us and for his future. It’s now up to our manager to play to his strengths and get our wide men to get to the line and cut the ball back to him. That’s how he scores a lot of his goals.

Speaking of Swindon, we once signed Tom Hallet and Wilf Shergold from them. The former did very well for us and the latter made people smile. But more to the point we signed one of our greatest ever goal scorers from them. The great great Bronco Layne. I take this as a good omen.

Agreed! Yes ladies and gentlemen Doyle is back at his club, in training and will be be playing on Saturday (at some point from the bench or starting).
Let’s all move on with our lives now and look forward to promotion, whilst Swindon exit our forum to concentrate on finishing mid table. Happy New Year!

I believe this situation still has running time, Swindon will be desperate to try and get Doyle back, Power can spout all he wants about being skint he knows the best chance he and Swindon have of getting promotion is to bring Doyle back.
Maybe Swindon pay all is wages, add on's bonus's etc and Bradford City have a clause that if Swindon get promoted Bradford City receive a one off payment of £100.000, overall that could be around a £230/250.000 saving for the club.
I'm not saying it will happen but I don't think we've heard the last of this saga.
