Our midfield - like our team - is set up to contain the opposition and win by a goal or two.

We don't create as many good chances as Swindon do for their forwards - however we beat Swindon, showing that our midfield - and our set up - IS effective.

I would improve the midfield if possible, but Reeves may just be the tonic.

His point is that we could bring in Harry Kane but unless we adapt how we use our strikers then it isn't going ti make a blind bit of difference so we may aswell just go with what we have.

Danny Hylton is a great shout.

Just done a quick search on the transfer market for free agents to show everyone who's still out there...

    Full backs:
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jordan-spence/profil/spieler/61588
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-taylor/profil/spieler/33785
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrone-mears/profil/spieler/14050
Jordan Spence is an interesting one, played a lot for MK Dons, so used to played it on the floor.

    Central Defenders:
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michael-turner/profil/spieler/12127
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roger-johnson/profil/spieler/42751
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrew-davies/profil/spieler/3869

think an old head would be decent for the second half of the season to see us over the line. Michael Turner looked solid last season when we played Southend.

    Wingers:
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/simon-dawkins/profil/spieler/57488
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-marshall/profil/spieler/118567
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/grant-ward/profil/spieler/283655
Grant Ward is another interesting one, Ben Marshall would be brilliant but out of our price range no doubt.

    Centre mids:
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/peter-whittingham/profil/spieler/3762
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mark-davies/profil/spieler/36917
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-thorpe/profil/spieler/128911
I also think we need an older head in midfield to help see us over the line.

    Strikers:

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jay-emmanuel-thomas/profil/spieler/27969
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leon-best/profil/spieler/28244
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-bunn/profil/spieler/186290
    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/max-clayton/profil/spieler/181485

Not so sure Reeves was often dropping deep to receive it, I’d be shocked if it’s a deliberate tactic but Bowyer probably said something like if you come under pressure don’t mess about with it. A’OC has given the ball away a few times playing a stupid pass, Preston game being the worst. But he’s better at it than Richards-Everton who I don’t think has the ability to make a decent pass. These defenders have looked more solid this season, but on the ball are poor imo, and we’ll need better if we got promoted.

Nothing taken, I'm just showing what's out there for free, which isn't much. So what i'm probably saying is, ins and outs will either be permanents or loans. Unless there is a gem in there. Surprised Ben Marshall is still a free from that list though and with him being ex Blackburn.

Most of them are probably riddled with injuries, not what we need with our record...

We need a forward who can still score playing with his back to goal,

You raise a good point. A good read in yesterday's WotP talking about how the stats show that teams at the top of league two have more possession than us and have the highest percentage of shorter passes. We rank poorly on both those stats. Our midfield needs to have more time on the ball and control the game. Say what we want about the strikers but if they have less opportunities and we spend less time with the ball in the oppositions half then clearly we'll create less chances.

I'd take Harry Bunn. If we are playing a 433 he is a much better option than the shite we currently have either side of Vaughan

Biggest transfer we could make this Jan is getting Eoin Doyle back.

He should be in the City squad on NYD and if he isn't it is a fookin disgrace.

The biggest transfer we could make is a transfer to a manager that isn't scared when his centre forward crosses the half way line.

If GB keeps this system then bringing Doyle back won't make a blind bit of difference.

The Cows Arse boys seem to think Akpan could be on his way to Tranmere next month! Big earner, probably our biggest at the moment. Hes from over that way and has just had a baby so could be something in it...

It is a choice with Doyle, Do we spend any cash we have surplus on bringing Doyle back and paying his wages in full, Or do we spend the money on a new signing or two to bolster the squad in areas GB wants to strengthen, Am not sure we can afford both so a choice needs to be made

No, we bring him back and free up wages by getting rid of 2-3 of the bang average CMs off the books. Oh and Shay.

    This option seems lost!!!

I'm not but I'm getting increasingly frustrated at his apparent fear to take the reins off and the way he chronically misuses proven strikers.
