And yet no country that has free access to the EU market can do so without paying a fee based on the size of there economy, Call it what suits you but that is a tariff, No one gets free access to the EU market

A tariff is literally defined as a levy on goods entering an economy and has a very specific meaning. They are designed to restrict trade between countries. A free trade agreement categorically does not do this. We pay VAT on things made in this country too (if we didn’t, you’d be closer to correct, but this is a clincher).

Entering a single market has a cost attached to it. Who would have thought it?! This is not a tariff, however way you look at it.

I don’t know how many more ways there are of explaining this. We have tariff free trade with the EU, this isn’t some kind of common misconception. Believe what you want to believe, but misinformation like that is helping to prevent others from being able to make their own mind’s up and contributing to the general inability for anyone to be able to talk about the topic rationally.

Seems to me like you are clutching at straws. Sometimes you should just listen to your fellow countrymen who have more of an understanding instead of interpreting things in the wrong way to suit your purpose.

If you dont like the EU thats fine but you are making things up.

Trevor deliberately misconstruing things to suit his argument? Surely not?
And in other news, the Pope really is Catholic.

I understand perfectly that if you are charged for a service it is a tariff, You may call it other things but the fact is that if we do not pay we do not get access, Norway is not an EU member but has a trade agreement with the EU, The cost of that trade agreement is a charge from the EU of around £740million, That is a tariff much like the fact part of out EU contribution is a tariff, You seem to not be able to grasp that the EU replaced individual payments on goods between members to a lump sum process that is much more easy to administer and far less time consuming in the need for less employees to administer it,
Your comment on not understanding these things and my betters ( Like you I guess ) having a better understanding would be laughable if it was a serious comment, I suspect when you grow up you may mature to realise people do have other opinions and sometimes annoyingly for you are better informed and also correct,

Your comment on making things up is not only insulting it is childish, Obviously the difference between opinion and fact has passed over you,
I have many discussions with many members and although we may have different opinions and viewpoints I would never question the sincerity or level of intelligence in the views they post.

On your final comment about the EU you are wrong again, I love the EU and wish it every success, I just do not want to be part of it

You are just a bunch of contradictions and you dont even realise it. What a rube (you might need to look that word up).

The fact you think of certain truths as opinion really does confirm to me that i must continue in protecting my country from people like you who seek to destroy not just my livelihoods but those of everyone else. With your stupidity and ignorance of facts masqueraded as opinion.

You tell me to grow up? I tell you to go back to school and learn. Times have changed since the days an abacus was deemed high tech.

A new deal is agreed at last, Now will parliament back it or will it be no deal which is now the alternative as the so called Benn Act could be now be null and void as it only comes in to force if a deal is not agreed with the government

Im with you @Tony Wilkinson@Tony Wilkinson I can't see any of the remain parties voting for it, Lib/Dems, Change, Greens, Labour, and the DUP who have been sold down the river I would think when the deal is brought to Parliament, unless as @trevor@trevor says "only comes in to force if a deal is not agreed with the government" then they do have a problem.
As we know Theresa May should never have got involved as a remainer.
