Just personal preference. I find Mellor very slow and ponderous, with a tendency to switch off without the ball and hoof with the ball. I will admit he offers something with his height , but i just think he takes too long too often.

I get your point on Henley but dont forget he was out of position at left back

 

Card happy ref from the looks of him but at least he isn't a 1st year ref for the first time at VP this year I think?

They've changed to a flat back five in the last few weeks with 3 CM's protecting and only lost 1 in the last 5. Expect a frustrating day, either by whistle or camping in our half. From their highlights in those last few they look like they just wait for the counter, happy to sit back. Only 34% possession last week playing at home.

 

If Cooke is fit then I’d like to see us go 433. Now that we have better options out wide and a midfielder who looks half decent I think 433 might work. Add to that the fact the Donaldson hasn’t being particularly good then I think we go with:

The obvious issue is Devine/Akpan but we don’t have any better options so I suppose we’re stuck with them for now. It’s a shame Devitt is injured as he would be another option but no such luck.

I think your watching the wrong level of football the Cambridge and Forrest green games were crap due to spoiling teams and poor refereeing

 

Take out Ismail for Pritchard and you’ve got our strongest team

 

Prefer Anderson to Akpan or Devine

 

I'm not convinced on Pritchard as a winger. Good delivery from set pieces but offers very little from open play. I'd like to see him in a central position, where he played against bolton and was very good.

Bowyer can Bottle it all he wants - so long as City get 3 points .... Even if we score first kick of the game, and then do nowt else for 89 minutes !

 

Bowyer needs to start playing his strongest team and stop worrying about easing them players in. They will get fitter by starting games and getting an hour out of them. Cooke and Paudie have to play.

I'm not a big fan of Devine but I find Palmer escapes a lot of criticism when he doesnt really do much. At least Devine puts himself about.
