I see Swindon have signed Anthony Grant on loan from Shrewsbury. Going to be a strong side this season, I reckon

 

God we have some shite on loan. Where are the Jorge Grants, Tyler Walkers and Sean Raggets other L2 clubs have signed over the years?

We seem to be signing shite from L1 nobody wants or because Bowyer 'knows them'. Where are the talented youngsters with experience to gain and a point to prove?

 

#BowyerOut poor signings. He has signed 15 now. plus had Mellor & Akpan before.

 

O'Hara at Peterborough would have been a good midfield anchor at this level but he's gone to Motherwell.

 

I dont think you can label Devitt and Cooke as shite loan signings. Devitt was one of the best players in league 2 last season, for example. I think Palmer will come good,

I would rather have Vaughan and Donaldson has first choice strikers, than a loan signing, who may, or may not come good

Same with Paudie, would rather have signed him on 3 year deal, than taking a chance on a loan signing with no expereince

 

I would take Devitt and Cooke over all three of those

Behave mate. All three are playing at higher levels than us right now.

Walker is a goal machine - L2 and started well in L1. Grant was amazing at Notts County the other season. Started the season well at Lincoln.

Devitt scored 12 with 8 assists last season from midfield

 

He may well be OK but Grant bettered that at County. Cooke is 22 and has 40 games under his belt.

Shite probably harsh but L1 clubs don't want them. They ain't sending them here to develop.

Unless we had signed those 3 and then those 3 would have been better than Devitt and Cooke.

 

He is certainly a player capable of breakng up play with his tough tackling. Not sure what he did to prompt Shrewsbury to banish him to train with the kids there though?

 

Those players you named who had storming season's did not come with mega reputations.

They earned them while on loan.

 

Exactly. That's my point. Young, talented and with a point to prove for their parent clubs. Big Championship clubs. They weren't cast offs, they were sent to develop. Ryan Yates another.

Palmer, Cooke, Devitt, Connolly all unwanted by L1 clubs.

We haven't played the loan market well IMO. Devitt comes with decent record though.
