Fair comment, but I’m talking about the past 2 years not just 10 mins today.

Given the differences in CV’s, I reckon Donaldson has more good touches than bad, whereas I’ve seen very little in the past 2 years to suggest Patrick is a footballer

 

Yet we allow a seasoned striker leave to ease the wage bill, lets just hope we can keep Donaldson & Vaughan fit or hope Bowyer is bringing a young loan striker from a Premier club.

I'd prefer it if it was either Hylton or Buckley. I know they play different positions but I think we need more pace out wide or upfront.

Patrick and McCartan as back up isn't good enough. It was so clear to see.

 

Yes but McCartan has shown glimpses in the past at Accrington and Lincoln. I just don’t see anything in Patrick at all. In addition, Gibson is only slightly ahead of Patrick in terms of ability. They’re not good enough to be relying on.

 

Is Longstaffs any good?

 

I'd like to think the same yet worryingly, when the Radio Leeds interviewer asked GB about this post match yesterday, he seemed to refer straight away to McCartan and what hes been doing in training. I can see GB keeping faith with him. We have 4 strikers on our books, 2 in my opinion are well below the required standard, yet I wouldn't be suprised to see midfield reinforcements only coming in. Just pray Vaughan and Donaldsin stay fit

 

Glimpses at Accrington and Lincoln. When McCartan plays for us Bradford City seems to big a club for him. He always looks like a rabbit in a headlight.

Not all players can cope with the pressure of playing in front of a big crowd/club.

I wouldn't be counting on his has back up at all.. he's better off a smaller club. Not good enough for Bradford City.

 

Yes I get all that but if that means shuffling the pack and playing the likes of McCartan or Patrick along side either Donaldson or Vaughan.
Lets hope as I posted Bowyer has it covered by a loan.
I'm with you regards Patrick when he came on he left the Oldham players for dead and as he cut in for a shot finished up on his backside, it would have been interesting to see if he could have finished.

 

If thats the case I can understand letting him go, let's see if Vaughan has got a cough and is fit for the Stevenage game.

 

A smaller club who are top of league 1

 

I believe the Newcastle fans have already started to sing his praises and some say he could be better than Sean.
Regular first team football would appear to be order of the day now in his development.

They were in league two and play in front of smaller crowds.

It's no shock they didn't resign him because I don't think he can handle the full pressure of expectations.

 

I think Bowyer has a thing for McCartan. At one point, he even started talking about him when the question asked had nothing to do with McCartan. In fact the whole interview was weird. It was like he was desperately trying to be funny and failing

 

No chance..3 goals for Mansfield already this season, it would take a transfer fee we could not afford, to prise him away
