Gary Bowyer - when do we judge?

Nah, haven’t you heard, Bowyer is getting his ‘yes’ men around him. Reeves and Riley etc

His selections so far have been stupid.

 

Just looked and it seems Peter Jackson just pips Grayson to the bottom spot with something like 21 against Grayson on 21.5.

What's GB's win ratio?

 

15% (2/13 if I’ve counted right), but Blackpool went up so that’s ok.

 

On the positive side, if we win the next game he will overtake Jackson and pretty much equal Grayson, so there's hope yet.

Also in his defence, who remembers that torrid start we got off to in 1998, and that season ended up sweet

 

If you just want league results, then it's Hutchings: 1 win in 12 gets him the worst winning percentage of all our permanent managers.

Nobody knows who the strong teams are yet in this league Grimsby easily beat Morecambe away last week and they have gone on to get a point at Mansfield a promotion favourite. While Cambridge have kept another clean sheet at home to another fancied team. And Scunthorpe have been thrashed at Cheltenham. Change isneeded but we will have no idea how the season will go until much further in

 

8 more games. We look devoid of any shape which is worrying.

 

Bowyer is bringing all this on himself for absolutely no reason. Playing this system with the players we have is utter nonsense, I've not seen or heard one person say that its even remotely working, because it isn't.

If you want to play 433 or the diamond then go out and buy a LW and DM. Otherwise play 442.

 

Ok so going along with your theory that Grimsby and Cambridge might be dark horses and be up there, can we assume that Oldham and Stevenage will be strugglers? If we don’t beat them both then what will your thoughts be?

 

All I am saying is until we get into the season how do we know a point at Grimsby isn’t a good one and we will judge the next two when we have played them. But nobody is going to make it easy

 

We certainly should be winning one or two from our first four games - I'm sure Bowyer realises, and makes the players understand.

But if we draw all four, can we get over the idea that we don't need to sell every player and sack all the coaches?

 

A half decent side would have had no trouble beating either of those teams today. So far we've played against pretty limited opposition and not looked better than either than them. And thats all down to Bowyers bewildering tactics. As @Faithful Bantam alludes to, how about doing something really groundbreaking and play players in their best positions. Its not too much to ask.

 

If Grimsby and Cambridge are dark horses in this division i might as well give up watching football. Is league 2 really that bad a standard that teams like that are possibly thought of as a possibility of promotion? Actually scrub that, league 2 is that bad as i've witnessed over the last 180 minutes of football.

 

Very disrespectful of Grimsby they had a good win last week and are a very physical side anyone who thinks we can turn up at these grounds and turn them over every week will be disappointed. I agree until we set up right we will not be at our best but there will be very few easy matches
