I won’t boo our own players. However, in many respects he has to stop it! Play out of his skin, and then the booing will stop. He has to prove to the fans he is the right footballer for this club.

 

Our fans should let it go now. I actually think he'd be a decent reserve option next season.

 

Stupid in my opinion

 

It made me feel a little uncomfortable, even if I half expected it. I had hoped that any booing would be reserved for another occasion, rather than a match to support Stephen Darby.

 

Maybe it was just the Liverpool fans in Liverpool shirts sitting in the seats they usually sit in when they come to watch City...

 

I won't be booing him but if it helps him come to the conclusion that he's better off playing elsewhere then I'd be all for it.

 

His 'conduct' was probably the biggest reason why fans have turned. In terms of performances, he wasn't exactly great. But he was better than NKP or Chicksen. I saw him have a couple of good games and certainly good moments in games with goal line blocks etc. Not making excuses for anyone, but playing with NKP and Chicksen next to you and no midfielders who could tackle in front of you, must've been demoralising.

If he acts right, I think it should be a case of a clean slate. He'll get way less patience than French or BRE, or POC, but we should let him have another go if he's still here without burdening him with baggage from last season.

 

Certainly remember the replay. Our coach reached the ground 30 mins into the match and we had to stand outside the ground until they opened the gates with 20 mins to go.

 

We were robbed in the home game as it was long after the match should have finished when Burnley got their equaliser. There were traffic jams all the way from Keighley to Burnley three days later.
After dashing around the ground we got in for the kick off and were amongst the crowd of over 52,000 to watch the 5-0 defeat.

 

Disgraceful.
It’s a clean slate for ALL the squad and booing in a friendly is totally unacceptable.

 

I prefer to see City players dictating play and making it hard for the opposition, but I will applaud quality when I see it even if it's from opposition players.
Over the years certain players have for some reason always done well against us, Dack, Payne, Pringle, Billy Sharpe, Keith bloody Edwards, Kevin Francies etc, Imo clapping a bit of quality be that a defence splitting pass or a well worked goal should be ignoured because it was done by the opposition.
Maybe its an age thing mate with regards football I have mellowed, in my younger days the wife and kids stayed out of my way on a Saturday night if we'd lost at home especially.

 

Aye, maybe it is an age thing, when we lose now I'm pissed off for the whole week

 

I know a good cure mate have your tea and tell the wife that rather than spoil their Saturday night staying home being miserable you'll take yourself off to the local win win.

 

Bloody disgrace BBC Look North didn't do any coverage of yesterdays game and the reason why 24,000+ attended.

Let's hope yesterdays meetings of the two clubs owners could possibly see a link up between the two clubs and maybe Liverpool allow one of their young starlets come to Valley Parade and give then experience of mans football as Burke & Cullen used to call it.
