I could never applaud or celebrate a goal which we conceded, whether that be in a competitive game or friendly, it just isn't my thing. Its a bit like last season when we were 0-4 down at home to Blackpool and some fans clapped off Gnanduillet when he was subbed, I just didn't get it. But each to their own I guess.

That was the first time I stood up and applauded Beckham cross and P Scholes goal. Absolutely magnificent goal. According to @brisbanebantams@brisbanebantams i an now a tin pot supporter. I think the only other goal I have stood and clapped is the Thierry Henry equaliser at VP. Sometimes you just have to applaud fantastic football or what’s the point.

I heard he was scouting Doyle and A OC. Supposedly wants to swap them for Lovren and Mane ;)

So what? He had just tore us a new arsehole and put another nail in our relegation coffin. Why on earth would anyone applaud that?

I Imagine he might have had that idea himself after seeing the crowd and the pitch. And also the way we played, as we only hoofed it to get over the high press and tried to play it out wherever we could.

A lot to be said about high pressing .......... Now, if only Hopkin had stuck to his convictions and kept pressing, rather than pushing his luck ........ :)

I got to that game :( but it seemed to me, based on comments around me, that it was almost aimed at GB as a sign of the sort of player we needed.

Doesn't count, only a friendly, what if O'Connor gets injured, can he do it on a cold Tuesday night at Plymouth etc. etc.

Maybe it's an acknowledgement of a damn good performance in the grander scheme of things. Believe it or not it takes two teams to make a football match, unfortunately these days many fans only see the one.

Just because you are an ardent fan of one team, it doesnt mean you can't appreciate something another team does. Would you rather we just booed the city centre half on the recieving end of that display because according to some on here you can't do that either

All I know is, that If O'Connor gets injured and Paudie gets injured and BRE gets injured and Mellor gets injured and Longridge gets injured then we might just have to play French so I'm glad he's done ok (for a project) in his first few games.

If you're a neutral at a game then go wild and appreciate every piece of brilliance you see, but there's not a chance I could ever applaud a goal or player who had just beaten Bradford City. Even if the best goal of all time was scored against us, I couldn't bring myself to give two shits about it.

I believe yesterday's attendance of 24,343 was the highest attendance at Valley Parade since a crowd of 26,277 watched the FA Cup 5th round match against Burnley on 20 February 1960; so highest attendance for over 59 years.

I reckon he's pushed himself further up on the back of that performance. To play with the confidence he did against CL champions friendly or not was a credit to him. Especially so given his recent interview stating the biggest crowd he'd played in front of was actually when we played Guiseley the other week. His driving run with the ball was great although I did chuckle a bit as he ran through half their team, got past the halfway line then seemed to stop and think shit did I really just do that.

Our purple patch in December was down to relentless high pressing high up the pitch, I was at one of the home games when we put 4 past them and we just didn't let up at all, then come January all that intensity disappeared and it was back to watching a team of under 7s cower at playing against actual men.

I suppose we won't really know until the seasons well underway but he certainly hasn't looked out of place yet.
