The problem with Cullen would be his injury record. Can we really afford to risk another injury prone player at this stage when we really need to make our budget count? I think i'd be trying to shift some of our current players before taking a risk on injury prone players.

 

If we start to rule out every player who's had injury problems in their career we'd be left with a very small list!

 

Think he might be more interested in signing the guy who sells City Gent. Isn't he 6ft 8?

 

Just like we were left with a very small playing squad last season due to injuries.

We took too many chances last season which backfired. We must pick and choose carefully this time around, so ruling a player out because of his injury record would make sense in our circumstances.

 

I agree but there's a difference between a track record of injuries throughout their career and a player who's just had a bad patch. Realistically, which players do you think we picked up last season that we shouldn't because of their injury record? While he had clear ability Calum Woods was one who had a history of injures that we should have stayed clear of but it was desperate times. Other than him I can't think of anybody who missed games last season that has a long history of injuries.

Footballs a contact sport and there will be knocks and injuries but we shouldn't rule a player out because he spent a month out the previous season. I do agree we need to be careful though.

Point taken NM - thought the injury he picked up was a complete freak one but I can see why you've thrown him in there.

 

But it is ............ HOW can a player have aspirations of better football, if they can't be arsed or want to play for their current Club ?

Just a slightly different lens on the same point. I don’t think they NEED to feel any affinity for the club, as long as they’re committed in terms of how they perform. It doesn’t have to be about playing for the shirt or having the affection for the club we do. They just need to be decent players, and not act like gutless tw*ts who couldn’t give a monkeys about their or the teams performance. They don’t need to be proud to be here. But they do need take a professional pride in their own performance

 

You have to ask why they are unable to show that they enjoy playing football.

 

Ipswich town signed Norwood from tranmere. Not sure if he was every mentioned on here.

They will be a good side next season

 

Cos they were shit at it.

 

I know Norwod has a great goalscoring record, but its funny, he has never impressed me when seeing him on tv. Think he will struggle to have the same impact in league 1. That said, still fancy Ioswich to do well next season

Ali, do you actually read what is written? Where have I used stats to “favour Hanson”? Hanson’s stats are poor. I have said this multiple times now. My point is that his stats over his career are better than Doyle’s. And even last season there weren’t much between them really.

I have also stated that Doyle scored twice as many goals as Hanson last season, so no idea why you raise that point. However, he did also spend twice as many minutes on the pitch

Please understand I’m not defending Hanson but I am defending the claim that he’s not fit to clean Doyle’s boots. Let’s face it, Doyle isn’t exactly something special
