Transfer Rumours 2019/20

Be good to get another one in. I think he's starting with the defensive side of things, which makes sense. We need to be much tougher to get at and much meaner at the back.

 

Hopefully a left back. Heard a rumour it’s cullen though as he’s back from his holidays.

 

Cullen wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve heard another defender though, so we’ll soon see....

Imagine last season never happened (did it/didn't it..?) and this week we signed the likes of Doyle, Scannell, Payne and Butterfield then we would all be running down to the bookies to put our mortgages on being league 2 champions by a mile for next season...
There needs to be so much better management, cohesion and commitment this time from everybody associated with the club whoever we sign...

What we need is a balanced squad that’s why we got relegated because we had no players to play wide or that could mix it

 

Nothing wrong with signing big names, we've just got to make sure they're capable of playing together this time.

 

And actually feel proud and want to play for BCAFC.

 

All we lack now is a 'Klaxon monitor' ........Perhaps Jake could do it, as part of his rehabilitation ? ......

 

There's nothing wrong with using stats. It is frustrating though when you start spouting them a default response to everything that's written, and are only prepared to look at them in a way that favours Hanson. There are plenty of stats that can be used in defence of Doyle. Here are a few:

*Doyle doubled Hanson's goal tally last season.

*His goals to minutes ratio was better despite playing for what was comfortably the worst side in the division.

*It was only this time last year where he had an excellent goalscoring season for Oldham, suggesting he hasn't quite declined to the same levels of James Hanson.

*The season where he had scored 5 goals in 30 odd appearances can be concided with the fact that he played Championship football that season, which for lower league footballers is arguably an achievement with in itself.

Etc etc.

Interestingly, you use a similar set of stats to back up your own argument which is fair enough. There's no right or wrong answer, it just boils down to your perspective and how you choose to interpret certain numbers. Not everyone has the same thought process as you, and the sooner you understand that the sooner you'll realise that valid arguments for the alternative do exist, even if you disagree with them.

The fact that you think it's only a one way debate where only your own opinion counts is pretty hilarious though. Fancy someone believing that Doyle is better than Hanson. It's not like we're comparing him with Mbappe is it?

 

As you say, Tawheed ...... "There's no right or wrong answer" .........
As has been done in the past , comparisons of Mills, McCarthy, Quinn and Campbell etc .... As time goes by, the here and now fades into History, when record books will only show stats, with no true relevance.
Next season, Hanson will not be wearing Claret and Amber - And Doyle too, may move on. This being the case, perhaps now would be a good time for ALL to drop this debate, which continues to go full circle, and no winners ?

 

I don't think that's a major issue. We just need the right blend of talent, character, leadership and effort.

I'd be happy to sign someone who doesn't plan to be here for long and see's us as a stepping stone to bigger things. As long as they apply themselves professionally.
