Gary Bowyer - manager next season

The Fordy who said ' its our time, lets all pull together as our club needs us' just a couple of weeks back has well and truly left the building - welcome home previous Fordy!!

 

Seems logical until you hear that the other loan player on the bench only got 3 minutes anyway.

Especially when you consider he was a striker and we were behind for the majority if the game.

 

He said today he couldn't pick Payne because of the loan situation.

 

No, this is still true and had to be the case but we need to start being more demanding.

We need results!

We now find it acceptable not to gain them.

 

Doesn't take you long to play another tune when it suits you :

 

I fear the next 6 games will probably not deliver what you/we are hoping for - I know what you mean when you say its not acceptable to admit the games up but I honestly just dont think the players we have are capable of achieving the results we need. Then again we'll probably go and win next week and hope will be re-invigorated!

 

Comparing some of our poor teams over the years this one must go down as the most underachieving one asked on what a lot of these players have achieved in the past

 

Someone fails at City but it's ok Bradford City will offer a 2 year contract.

No argument there I do hope behind the facade they trawl out every week that deep down there is a bit of embarrassment - both as professionals but also as individuals who in theory are 'more gifted' footballers than the vast majority of those of us who play this wonderful game

If we take the last 23 games of last season, we played 23 winning 5, drawing 6 losing 12 with a goal difference of - 18. Points 21

You do the maths but 2 halves like this over a season would have meant certain relegation.

So in our last 63 matches, we have won 15 games, drawing 12 losing 36 with a goal difference of - 43. Accumulating 57 points.

Less than a point a game. Also, we won 2 of the first 3 within that 63 game period against Oxford and Fleetwood, so 13 wins in 62 at a win rate of 20.96%

In that same period, home and away form reads:

In the same period we have accumulated 8 points from a losing position. The last time we can from behind to win, was away at Fleetwood on 1st January 2018.

We have gone through 5 managers and two caretaker managers. God knows how many players but this team is very different to that of the last half of the 2017/18 season.

So whilst @Andy10 the players of this season are very accountable for this season, it differs very much from those of last season. Every player who 'represented' our club today did not play last season.

The only consistent is Rupp, the backroom teams (ambassadors et Al), the ground and us the fans....

Maybe @Fordy117 has a point. Maybe we do not demand enough. Maybe we have got entwined in making excuses, instead of expecting more. Maybe?

 

What is more annoying is that our situation was self inflicted.

 

No he wasn't it was because of the loan rule, Bowyer actually mentioned it in his post match interview.

Bowyer getting away with murder compared to the grief Hopkin got, we’d already be mathematically down if it wasn’t for the points Payne earned this season and going with Anderson again... no way should some questions not be asked before we hand him a two year deal.

He says loans don't sit right with him, to leave someone out if their not playing well is one thing, not leaving them out because they are the extra loan is wrong.
