i don't understand how grown men (mid 40's) can run on the pitch after your team scores "yay yay we scored.. yay, i'm going to run on the pitch and celebrate.. yay yay"

some people really need to grow up.. its embarrassing, kids i get.. but grown men.. nope.

As for the stewards, i think you will find most of the regular in-house have gone and its agency staff who now run the show.. think this was another one of Edins master plans.. after all he not only knows football.. he also knows security!

What are people really expecting from the stewards in this situation?

Might explain why we've not had a shot on target in the two games since that goal. Too risky that someone might come near the pitch.

I understand what you're saying Stafford, but how can we let the FA do nothing against Millwall for their antics at Wembley then allow anything for fans celebrating with our players.

The reasoning that the FA had nothing to do with the security or however it was worded is fine, but surely we can't be liable for a security firm either if that's the case. The FA are a ruling body but that doesn't mean that they don't make mistakes and them mistakes should be challenged, do you not agree that the article was worded quite strongly for what the incident actually was? Talks of 3 year bans etc, that is way OTT and another way to isolate fans.

The amount of times where a goals in at the kop end and the players have run towards the hoarding and the fans go celebrate with them is countless, we aren't the only football ground that this happens it and I could probably put money that similar incidents happen up and down the country every Saturday.

I understand control, but don't isolate a crowd because of over zealousness.

Exactly. On a pittance an hour and just given a jacket and here’s your position in the ground. Off you go

If they started wrestling people to the ground we’d soon be on here up in arms.

No blames with the stewards for me.

    Simple solution
Put an 8 lane Olympic standard running track round the pitch.
Be knackered by the time they reach the touchline:)

Whether it happened at Newcastle or not, it’s still pathetic. It’s also irrelevant as to what other incidents have occurred- they should be dealt with as appropriate, but a group of fans celebrating with the players as they came over to them is not a law breaker

Firstly Roger, thanks for taking the time to respond. I appreciate that if not the full reply you provide.

I personally would hand someone to the stewards if I saw them taking or lighting a flare at a game. I was at Rochdale and was disgusted to see that incident. Not sure what happened at Walsall, so cannot comment, but if something on similar lines, then I agree it’s out of order.

Don’t get me wrong, all “crowd trouble” incidents should be looked at and warnings/bans dished out. But I refuse to accept someone like Shaun Harvey criticising fans for wanting to celebrate with fans. Anyone who saw the incident at Birmingham, involving Grealish will agree that that fan deserved his punishment. But a handful of fans joining in with players celebrating, shouldn’t be looked at in the same way.

All that said, I suppose you have to make the right sounds so that those that are trying to pass punishments, at least think you are trying to respond. And for that, I think it’s fair enough.

But, by the same token, players are told not to jump into the crowd and celebrate with fans. Should they be treated just as harshly? Because, as you say, they ALL know the rules and they are not hard to conform to”.

Does that include standing whilst celebrating as I believe standing at games is also against stadia rules...?

Perhaps we should just keep seated and applaud with a gentle hand clap?!!

Already noted, hence why Bowyer’s team only had a couple of shots on target in the last 2 games.

    A three year ban, really.
Now there's a blessing in disguise.
