What possible evidence do you have to suggest Rahic is 'shrewd'?

    Will be talks with Grayson.

Gryson will only stay if he has a top 2 budget. Not top 6.

    Therefore will go Scunny

    1) Phil Parkinson was all set to leave for Sheffield United the season before the Germans came in but opted for Adkins due to £0 compensation.
    2) Hanson wanted out, Darby wasn't playing, Meredith wanted to go to the Championship, McArdle got a better offer from Scunthrope. Last one looks like an error but he hasn't pulled up any trees at Scunthorpe.
    3) Spent a few quid on transfer fees, signalled intent to invest in players - a different strategy to signing freebies on high wages.
    4) Abbott is Chief Scout.
    5) Peterborough do the same as us - McAnthony, Fry and the Manager. Hasn't worked bad for them over the years. It took Sheff Utd and Huddersfield years to get out of L1.

    And the results?

    1) we progressed in season one. Put whatever spin your want on it but we went further than the season before.
    2) yes we have gone backwards this season in terms of league position. But we are still in League 1 like the previous 4/5 seasons.

Did it escape your notice that we made the play off final last year, narrowly getting beat by Millwall at Wembley? I don't know about anyone else but that's progress in my book from the semi final finish the year before. I'm not Rahic and Rupp's biggest fan by a long way but credit where it's due (to them, the players and Stuart) for achieving that after the turmoil in the summer. Other than that, I agree with a lot of what you say.

Id love to be a fly on the wall during these talks, im interested to know whether graysons demands are reasonable or not. Either way, no one would believe rahic or rupp would they if Grayson were to walk away.

Approaching a figure of £1m less income than last year due to the drop in ticket sales, id imagine roughly the same again in a full upgrade to the pitch (going by reports earlier), whatever he wants doing to the training ground on top of this, plus £4m+ wages/transfer budget. When ever has that being available to a city manager regardless of who the owner is?

If, these are true, then to me they are well within their rights to tell him to walk on. It would be folly of them to risk the club for that and id back them 100%.

It's fine, you can call it progress.

I was talking about league position.

You are talking about losing to Millwall at a different stage of the competition.

Perhaps if we'd had Fleetwood in Parky's last season, we'd have made it to the finals.

    But that's irrelevant.

We haven't once finished in a higher league position under the current regime.

    Hopefully that changes next season.

Sorry but that is the most ridiculous argument I've ever heard. Are you seriously saying that if we had finished 3rd in the league last year but got beat in the semi final that would have been progress? What the hell does it matter whether you finish 3rd or 6th, as long as you make it to the final THAT is progress.

loosing to millwall was indeed a different stage of the competition. It was the final stage (2016/17)

But the owners can spin it like they didn’t want Grayson after he has underperformed at CIty since February.

By the same obvious token, we got beat in the play offs.

    Big deal.

Either way, if they're not willing to back the manager with a top 6 budget, they need to make it clear to the fans not to expect a promotion challenge

The pitch is costing nowhere near a million. it's not even a quarter of that.
it's not a full pitch renovation. just certain sections of it.

At a stage in the competition we didn't reach the previous year = progress.

They are not going to say that are they. But with an approximate income of about 1.3 million from season ticket sales plus what we get in windfalls I think the budget won’t be any higher than last season especially taking into account work on the pitch and if Grayson gets his way the training pitch
