Objectively, and without emotion, here is what Edin/Rupp has/have done, whoever you feel is responsible:

1) Lost Phil Parkinson.
2) Let the last of the History Makers go for financial reasons.
3) Spent a lot of money on replacements in terms of transfer fees.
4) Installed a director of football or whatever Abbott's title was.
5) Diminished the say of the manager in transfer activity, favouring a team.

And the results?

1) Halted year-on-year progression in terms of league position (season one)
2) Taken us backwards in terms of league position (season two).

Whether you think the top 5 are good/bad/indifferent, the results at the bottom are what really count.

Then, yeah, you have plenty of rumours, and even concrete statements from our players about how morale fell through the floor this season. Again, wherever you want to place the blame for that, the people that are ultimately in charge and therefore responsible are Rahic and Rupp.

How anyone can now sit back and say "but they haven't really done anything" is beyond me.

 

I'm as anti edin as they come but if he just said something like look - we've lost x amount of income in ST sales, we're commiting x amount to the pitch work, without carrying a huge deficit or debt and risking the clubs futurewe're putting the rest, as much as we can, on the first team squad. it's not the highest in the league, it's fairly middle of the road in terms of League 1 but who knows what we can achieve if everyone works together and is commited towards the same goal then I'd gain some respect for him.

You may well have a good point actually. Grayson has his excuse if he leaves, but for all we know, his demands may well be so unrealistic to bear fruition

 

Give him a a budget somewhere near to what he wants and he will get you at least playoffs if not promotion. He would have money to work with at Scunthorpe, whether he sees himself as bigger than the likes of us or Scunthorpe remains to be seen. No point in Grayson being here if its not under his terms, McCall made that mistake and look how that ended up.

 

I was told it had been booked in and stuff ordered. Maybe they can change it but have decided not to as it shows intent, and possibly keep the league off our backs, whilst saving a bit of cash to invest into the team?

Who knows. One thing for sure is that something will happen and we will find out at some point. Until that point we will just have to keep guessing and shouting at each other

1 minute you lot are shouting how we need a manager with balls that can tell that wannabe accountant that thinks he knows football what is needed.

This is further enhanced by look at what he has done in this league regarding promotions.

Next its, Lets give Grayson some slack, it was all McCalls fault as results dont improve.

As for Rupp. You would be as well bringing Simon Cowell to the party to judge football matters.

14th Jan 2018. the bullshitter said we were aiming for the top 2 when we did not have a fit fullback at the club. He took great pride on mccalls achievements as if they were his own.

It took the crowd to turn on him at Rotherham and the Killgallon emotional plea on the radio before the sturbon git opened the purse strings. The rot has set in by this point but the deluded one thought better.

The way he handled the McMahon and Hendrie situations was not from a head coach aiming for top 2. It was from an accountant counting his pennys.

Mark Lawn was many things but he was a fan of the club. These two chancers are fans of the pound, nothing more. The day they are gone cant come soon enough.

But hey at Bradford City you can fool folk some of the time and you can fool folk all of the time. We have had the we believe campaign, it will soon be followed by the we will be ready campaign and the poor seals on here will be clapping their flippers.

 

Look, my thoughts on what Rahic has and hasn't done are very well documented on this forum, and the previous, and the Cows Arse. I was pulled up yesterday about being like a broken record, I don't see what re-opening this debate here will achieve.

Rupp is back to attend tonight and tomorrow's POTY awards. I am not bothering tonight, but I'm going tomorrow. hopefully while he is here they will settle Grayson's future so the club can try and prepare for next season since I think we're all agreed there's a LOT of work to do.

 

If it's true that Grayson wants a 4m budget yet has only been offered the rumoured 2m-2.5m, you can't really blame him for walking away, especially if he is going to get much closer to that 4m at somewhere like scunthorpe.

For me, this isn't 'unreasonable', as it is the going rate for a promotion chasing side in this division. What is unreasonable and very deluded is expecting promotion with anything near a 2m budget

 

It's all lining up for Rosler nicely.
I'm suprised they are doing a POTY awards. A bit embarrassing really. Especially when the manager attending is only a temp one, and especially when he's basically said they are all an embarrassment and many of them should be shipped out in the summer.

Sorry but that is the most ridiculous argument I've ever heard. Are you seriously saying that if we had finished 3rd in the league last year but got beat in the semi final that would have been progress? What the hell does it matter whether you finish 3rd or 6th, as long as you make it to the final THAT is progress.

 

Either way, if they're not willing to back the manager with a top 6 budget, they need to make it clear to the fans not to expect a promotion challenge
