I hear a lot about styles of football the appointment of Stuart was welcomed by the majority because he likes to play an attacking style. Taking Saturday for example he played three up front it was an attacking line up. He could have matched them up which would have probably lead to a dour match but possibly with a result.
There are very few matches at this level that can be classed as good football. Pragmatism is needed Parky knew this. Getting out of this league has to be the aim either with pretty football or not

I think sometimes certain people "click" in a particular job.
The Cowley brothers did brilliant at Lincoln but there's always
that doubt about whether it was just a good fit for them there
or whether they had genuine talent and ability which would be
forthcoming at any club. But that is dependant on the new clubs
circumstances and a new appointment means they are not
doing too well so success is no easy thing with new manager.

    The Cowley Brothers...

    Jesus wept...

How many times are we going to pretend we want to start over again?

Not only is the move unrealistic, it would mark a move BACK to long ball and the way our fans are, long ball + not winning every single match = calls for a change of manager and style.

    Again.

We can't keep turning everything on it's head as soon as it looks like we're not going to get instant success.

If Stuart was going to go this season, or more likely at the end of the season, we need to be a bit more self-aware than recommending stupid ideas like this.

Definately not. Generally disliked in the game from what I hear from other clubs. Example, Lincoln we're glad to see them go despite success. Think they've had their 15 minutes of fame. Anyway we currently have a Manager in post so why this speculation?

I think Hill is a poor shout to be honest. He had a few good years in his first spell at Rochdale, but has done nothing since. He is one of those managers, like Coleman at Accy, who were a perfect fit for a certain club.

    A big no from me

Darragh MacAnthony spoke well of them in his podcast. Don't care how much their disliked if they brought success to our club.

Change the manager as much as you like. If he isn’t given the tools to work with by a CEO & owner then it will continue to be a revolving door at City. Cut the rot out at the top now. Tell us who this new CEO is and let him get on with the job.

I haven't read much of this thread - there's very little point. The thread's existence is a very good example of the flawed thinking of the sack 'em brigade. 'Your preferred manager'? as if it were as simple as that. When have we ever got our preferred manager? Hand on heart can anyone really say Grayson, Bowyer or even Parky for that matter was their preferred manager? In the real world the next manager will be available, within budget and able to muster enough positivity to paper over past failings. If that's preferable to what we've got now then fair enough - go for it. If you think it means the Cowley Brothers or Michael Flynn are about to rock up, think again.

I also think not having a preferred system after so many years of being a manager is also strange.. look at the good managers, they employ a system and sign players to fit that - if the player doesn't suit, he doesn't get signed. McCall still doesn't seem to know what or how he wants to play. strange.

I've said this in a previous post in another thread; if you constantly sign utility players, you'll only ever get 5-6/10 performances.. a utility player should never be a player who is the first name on a team sheet.

I believe both Flynn and Weaver being at their clubs for several years also helps build a squad and improve it year on year just as Parky did.

It's like I've stepped into a nightmare and gone back 10 years.

For the record I want Charlie as the next manager. He brings a lot of the same qualities discussed above.

You are right the change in CEO needs to come as soon as possible, It would lift the club and put pressure on McCall instead of having his friend as his boss, It may actually motivate him to improve, It looks like this season is becoming a standstill season so what better time?

I agree with you on this but what I don't want is for the bar to drop so that it's so low that failure is seen as impossible.

I don't want to get to 3 weeks before the end of the season and the usual McCall apologists (where is @Ricc@Ricc nowadays?) to come back with the line that he's avoided relegation and needs another shot so we given him another season.

If he stays on and we tread water there needs to be some sort of understanding that this is it. No more. Of course if he turns it around and does well than thats a different story.
