Wright to boo?

Well imagine that, a Bradford City focused commentary given by an avid Bradford City fan and it's biased! Who would have thought it. It's absolutely shocking! Of course is going to be biased, it's commentary for Bradford City fans, not neutrals.

I know he can get a little excited and lose the plot sometimes but ihis frustration is shared by us all. As for blaming referee's, I think Pulse 2 gers a bit of unfair stick here. Referees are part of the game and their intervention in a match can be extremely influential at times. It's Jason Thornton's job to report that back to the listener. Given some of the absolute shocking decision and the implications of them I will let him off for venting.

 

Exactly. Nobody was claiming bias when we turned arsenal, Villa, Leeds and Chelsea over and this season there’s countless posts on here, twitter and fb slaughtering the EFL about referreeing standards!

 

Probably a total stab in the dark and completely going out on a limb but if you forced me to guess, I'd probably take a complete punt that it was the one that actually played for City.

Giving a biased commentary is not giving a true reflection of the game. If i have to listen on the radio i actually want an accurate account of proceedings, otherwise its a completely pointless exercise.

 

Would I expect any thing else but a well informed reply from your good self.

I have seen lots of ineptitude, but on the whole no. The problem they have is massive lack of confidence, so what you see is slowness in decision making which looks like they are not trying. Pressure does stuff to your head. Completely different team in December when everything was flowing. When they played Blackpool they did collectively give up. I personally think they don’t think it can be turned round which makes it inevitable.

Thought it was Anderson who was boo'ed when he got subbed off? as a few minutes before, he was casually jogging after a loose ball while we were on the attack?, That seemed like the reason to me anyway. The lack of urgency was frustrating when the game was nearing the end.

 

I've never booed a player (well not a City player) in my life and will never do so. I think the frustration with Wright initially came from him being made captain then watching some very inept displays from him at the start of the season. Never made a tackle, just pointed at players and passed them on to other defenders, didn't influence the team whatsoever....No Stuart or Gary Jones material!! JO'B did more in twenty minutes when he arrived than Wright and Akpan together! Then he was clearly out of Hopkin's plans and he didn't seem to make any move in January to find another club ( Hopkin, only was non league option available) so I think a lot of fans saw him as basically stealling a wage, was said many times on here!! But over the season he's not the only one to be criticised, as somebody said he's only been involved for last few games. Many others as well, if the players watch back the entire season and think 'yeah I've done well' then they are completely deluded (O'B, Caddis, maybe Ball excepted, JP very poor after Jan as well). We've had player after player, manager after manager telling us how proud they are to wear the shirt and represent this club but week after week they fail to turn up, can't do the basics of defending and scoring!! If I was on 4k a week (200k a year) I'd be busting my guts everyday and every game.

 

Same reason I listen to 5live not talksport so respect your opinion. This is something Radio Leeds will be better at than Pulse. Pulse will naturally back all things Bradford.

 

1 - I imagine you weren't at the Oldham checkatrade game, I was. had a special hatred for Wright ever since then and he deserves all he gets.

2 - It's not like clapping them all season has exactly done anything has it?

 

Depends on how you define biased? I understand giving more airtime to the 'local' team during commentary, its natural for local radio stations but i want the commentary to reflect the game as true to the game as possible. I prefer Jason Thornton's commentaries when he has no co commentator, its usually the wing man that bores me to tears. When he's on his own he's a decent enough listen.

 

I used to prefer Radio Leeds, when they had Derm Tanner .......... Slightly bias, but pretty much summed up the game in play well. Also made the broadcast as interesting as possible, as well as talking the game only, when the ball was in play - Non of this "Bolton 1 - 0 in front", as City take a corner etc !!

 

it's also his job to give an accurate representation of whats happening. and blaming the referee and screaming like we've scored a goal when we've got a throw in on half way probably isn't the best way to do that.

Wright has been poor every single time he's played which was typified in the Checktrade game where he happily let the opposition player run 50 yards with the ball. I don't think that incident was the sole reason he comes in for abuse but it perfectly demonstrated the alarming lack of desire, bottle and talent he's displayed this season. Add in that he was one of 3 players completely disregarded by Hopkin through either attitude or ability along with his cryptic social media posts and i can see why he comes in for more flack than the others
