I'm not even taking one that's gone through 'proper testing' at first as even those are being fast-tracked. I have a phobia of needles anyway so I'm certainly not rushing to have an injection with a fast-tracked vaccine let alone one that's basically skipped all normal testing procedure. I'll wait for the first mass wave of people to have the 'tested' one and then see if its safe

A volunteer in the Stage 3 vaccine trials has died.
"Brazilian media report that the volunteer was a 28-year-old doctor who died of Covid-19 complications."
Trials were postponed for a week and have commenced again.
They seem to be withholding the information if he received the Covid vaccine or the meningitis one.
Long way to go yet :mask:

the flu vaccine is produced quicker than that each year. Yes it is just a manipulation on previous ones but these probably are too

The whole vaccination project is predicated on as many people being vaccinated as possible, it’s not a case of ‘you’ve got the vaccine, and now you’re safe’ on a personal level. Huge numbers of people either won’t be able to have the vaccine, or it won’t stimulate a response that immunises them.

I don’t think this is one of those ‘you make your choice, and I’ll make mine’ things. For this to work, everyone needs to work together. As I’ve said before, nobody would be vaccinated if they didn’t have to be. If you have no reason not to be vaccinated, there’s a moral incumbency. Vaccination is highly likely to get us out of this mess, but if everyone decided not to do it then we’re stuck like this indefinitely.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think it should be compulsory, but I don’t think people should be opting against it for no good reason. Especially given the balance of evidence showing that the chances of this vaccine producing adverse effects are minuscule.

Id be a bit disappointed if I someone I knew didn't but I'd also completely understand. arguably some of the least trustworthy people in the country (govt) now needs us to trust them with our health and lives on vaccine safety. im not taking it because i trust anything put it that way haha

    Is it normal practice?
If it's safe then why this?
"The UK government has granted pharmaceutical giant Pfizer a legal indemnity protecting it from being sued, enabling its coronavirus vaccine to be rolled out across the country as early as next week.
The Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed the company has been given an indemnity protecting it from legal action as a result of any problems with the vaccine.
Ministers have also changed the law in recent weeks to give new protections to companies such as Pfizer, giving them immunity from being sued by patients in the event of any complications.
NHS staff providing the vaccine, as well as manufacturers of the drug, are also protected"

Interesting comment, I wonder if you turned down the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine you would be able to go for the Oxford vaccine when its rolled out.

Got a call from my GP practice last Thursday to ask if me and my wife could attend an evening clinic that day for a jab
Too right, didn't ask why us, as we're only 66 years old and in no way vulnerable.
I have an idea why, but don't want to offend anyone so will keep my thoughts to myself.

Maybe interesting to some that more than 100 people have died worldwide shortly after having one of the vaccines. So no, I'm not going to be at the front of the queue, even if it does mean the control freaks say I can't get on a plane.

100 people world wide we know the UK have vaccinated just short of 5 million, I'll take my chance on that ratio, both had ours yesterday and so far no problem, but I can understand people saying it's not been tested long enough and the problems that might go with that.

My neighbour's both had theirs last week and they are both mid 60s, yet yesterday when we asked about our daughter who has kidney failure we were told she should get a call from the doctors later this coming week, I would have thought her underlying conditions were a priority ?.
