DMacs reputation took a blow employing the likes of Westley and Evans, even with hindsight I wouldn't have employed them. That said, apart from Phil Parkinson, our track record of managers is arguably worse. Phil Parkinson really did save Rhodes arse, he alone pulled this club out of the mire.
No owner/s is/are perfect but I like MacAnthonys strategy.

I remember him (chairman and chief executive) walking past us at Northampton away like he was a demigod... he was cheered too if only we had known the truth

Would take him in a heartbeat. Maybe we could tempt more players to stay with bigger attendances than he can at Peterborough if we swapped positions with them?
Unsure on the selling model but anything can happen to players and selling them for a lot of money in most cases can only be good and a reflection on his scouting teams etc. He has now employed a stats and analytics team and looking into that side of recruitment too. Forward thinking and very open. Opposite to our hands off owner.
His management choices are questionable but how many have we got right in the last 20 years? Probably 2? Parky and McCall before Rahic got rid?Tolly856 and Rogered Tart like this. -

He’s got a smaller club than ours to be more successful than us in the last 15 years, plus he’d be an upgrade on our last/current 4 co owners. I’m not his biggest fan reminds me a bit of a poor mans Richmond often talks the talk regarding his managers been amazing before discarding of them at the drop of a hat, however still better than what we have. So yes I’d take him.

If that had occurred at VP with the same result as Posh this site would be in melt down and demos at the ground.Bronco and JonButterfield like this. -
Maybe if the club had published full accounts we’d know where the record windfalls of recent years have gone. We’ve just had our transfer record for a sale. I’d like to know what the monthly management fee to Germany is.NorthernMonkey and bantam2708 like this. -

Agree about needing an owner prepared to fund us though because it certainly isn’t Rupp.Rogered Tart and Fordy117 like this. -

choice options which my father gave me.It was always City, maybe
even as a six year old I never wanted BPA or L**ds even though my
father offered to take me to either of those.
The club has always been financially struggling. The ground was always
an eyesore even though it didn't seem to matter. The crumbling kop
terracing and rusty barriers which health and safety would condem
today. An old cricket type half time score board just another eyesore.
I think in all honesty, Bradford has been an affluent place with the wool
industry and as you say,had plenty of wealthy citizens. However, once the
economy changed so the poor infrastructure got worse and City did too.
The irony is the 85 tragedy created a bond with fans and club that is virtually
unique in my opinion. You persevere watching your team with no expectation
of anything beyond a rare cup run. Then, in the McCall Hendrie era with what
was a rise in quality that I had never seen before and although a lot is said about
those two players,we had a real team playing fantastic football and I believed
for the first time we could actually become a club to be reckoned with.
Alas,I see that opportunity as being a surfer missing the biggest wave and although
Richmond kept his promise of prem football,he had a chance to either consolidate
sensibly or maybe be a yo yo club continuing our aspirations of eventually cementing
a top flight place but he gambled recklessly and the rest is history.
The other aspect is Bradford has a high Asian population and it's great to see them at
games but I think we need to encourage more to get attendances higher and bring in
the extra revenue.
My opinion of Stefan is gratitude for not abandoning us when Rahic went and he did
the honourable thing but the question of investment is very debatable as by his own
admittance,he is not a big football man so does that mean hope is in short supply?Tennesseebantam and JonButterfield like this. -

Selling players on and failing to keep hold of them? Fans aren't even happy when we sell off young lads they've never heard of and have never seen play - but they like to complain about it, even if the deals prove very profitable!
As for hanging around in League One for 6-7 seasons or whatever it's been? While there's no doubt it would beat hanging around League Two for a similar length of time, I just don't see the 'lack of ambition' that comes with continually selling a conveyor belt of good players as something City fans would relish long-term.
Knowing what this forum is like, almost succeeding for successive seasons would be intolerable.
However, there's a reason MacAnthony might consider leaving for another club with 'more potential' - my point is, he'd need to turn that potential into something of substance, and not just an unending narrative of nearly seasons and the constant hope of success.Jay likes this.
