Yes, he tweeted it last night in response to a question about which club he'd choose if he was starting again.

 

He's right though. Potential is massive at Bradford.

Unfortunately, just hadn't had owners that don't want to drive that potential forward.

 

He'd probably go for Swindon.

City and Coventry don't own their grounds.

When it comes to the patience levels of Bradford City fans, I don't think fans would stay happy for long at all.

Selling players on and failing to keep hold of them? Fans aren't even happy when we sell off young lads they've never heard of and have never seen play - but they like to complain about it, even if the deals prove very profitable!

As for hanging around in League One for 6-7 seasons or whatever it's been? While there's no doubt it would beat hanging around League Two for a similar length of time, I just don't see the 'lack of ambition' that comes with continually selling a conveyor belt of good players as something City fans would relish long-term.

Knowing what this forum is like, almost succeeding for successive seasons would be intolerable.

However, there's a reason MacAnthony might consider leaving for another club with 'more potential' - my point is, he'd need to turn that potential into something of substance, and not just an unending narrative of nearly seasons and the constant hope of success.

Really!, just remind me of his track record over his time at Posh.

 

2 seasons in league 2 when he first took over, back to back promotions to the championship followed by relegation. Promoted back to the championship for two seasons then relegated back to where they have now been for 8 seasons. Depends on what the criteria are for rating such a track record but before he took over Peterborough were the perennial bottom division side, only becoming a football league club in the sixties. For a club with little in terms of history and supporter base i'd say MacAnthoy's record since becoming chairman/owner at Peterborough, in terms of league position and transfer dealings has been undoubted success.

 

I posted something about this after the Chelsea cup tie I got talking to a couple of guys down there who said he was talking with Lawn and Rhodes the trouble being he couldn’t sell his own club

You mean the three seasons of championship football whilst we've been languishing in L1/2? The three promotion campaigns he's overseen, two of which automatic?

The improvement of their academy from a cat 4 to a cat 2, so they can become truly self sufficient and bring their own lads through?

The investment in their training ground and scouting system so that they have proper infrastructure set up for the future?

The ongoing process of building a new stadium?

The continued high profit and reinvestment of exciting youngsters?

Yeh, terrible record that. Much rather have Rupp and Rhodes.
