What exactly are we being saved from? The US is the most batshit crazy country out there, that's given us obesity, shit sports and crap food. Oh and the woke agenda spawning the weird trans movement we now see.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't fancy our chances at all, as NATO. Because it it really goes south, the likes of Russia, China, North Korea and Iran would likely all jump in.

 

This whole situation we are in Ukraine and Israel/Gaza in pushing back against US foreign policy. Zelensky yet another puppet for their administration. I'm no war apologist but as Putin said after saying they wouldn't go east with NATO theyve done it five times. Funny, I was watching a video yesterday where it showed an arms depot of the US in Norway where they could fully equip 15,000 marines at the drop of a hat for 30 days. And they have these all over the world. The US is there to look after the interests of it's wealthy and nothing else. It seems the rest of the world are pushing back against it.

The US loves conflict, it's how their paymasters earned their billions. I mean, have you seen the amount of hardware they built just lying in fields? Tanks, planes, artillery, you name it. They own over half the world's aircraft carriers. Let's not kid ourselves that it's there for some super hero type world police force to do good for.the planet. They think they can walk over anyone, that ain't happening with Putin.

 

I don’t believe that Putin is crazy. But I do believe that he’s an unreconstructed Cold War USSR apologist who believes that Russia should still be in control of most of Eastern Europe. He despises the fact that most of the former satellite Russian states have chosen to ditch Russia and become western democracies. His denial of independent Ukrainian history is a classic example of that. He believes that Ukraine is part of Russia and is not entitled to its own identity or separate history and culture. His schools are busy brainwashing captured Ukrainian children into believing that they are really Russians.

When he illegally annexed a big chunk of Eastern Ukraine in 2014 he confirmed the worst fears of the former USSR states. Nobody forced those countries to join the EU or NATO - they primarily did it as protection from Putin. In my view, anyone who seriously believes that Putin would stop at Ukraine, if he succeeds in fully capturing it, is living in cloud cuckoo land. Moldova and Georgia would be next, then the three Baltic States etc etc.

Heaven knows I’m no big fan of US cultural and military imperialism. And there’s very little that @Tony Wilkinson and I agree with politically. But I’m with him on this one. The threat of the US is a major factor in reining in the worst of Putin’s imperial ambitions. I shudder to think what will happen if Trump gets back in and rolls over to have his tummy tickled by his dictatorial hero, Putin.

Sounds like rhetoric to me. There’s an underlying point around whether countries should benefit from the protection of a NATO alliance without contributing to it?

Isn’t Trump the only modern history US president not to take the US into a war? And the Abraham Accords agreed under his presidency He’s obviously a divisive figure and I won’t pretend to know much in the way of detail about his presidency, but on the face of it there’s enough there to challenge the notion of his being a warmongering loon.

I think unless Trump gets banged up he can't fail to get back in and Biden can be applauded for that with his open orders policy, not even a country the size of the US can take the dregs from many countries not knowing their identity.........well there is and we live in it.
