If we are in this situation for a few months and it works out for firms I can see a lot of them wanting to reduce office space going forward and thus reduce over heads.
hopefully if they do they look at paying for their employees broadband etc

I've been working from home since last week, I'm not a huge fan but as @Frank Castle it is saving me a lot of time.... The transport saving is good too!

They both work in Drighlington and usually commute via the M62 I'm sure you know what sort of nightmare that can be although it's a "smart motorway" very stressful I would think at peak times.Storck likes this. -

One of my colleagues in the studio was furloughed today, the first member of the studio staff to be given leave. As I thought, our place aren't topping up the extra 20% so should I end up getting furloughed I'll be on a reduced salary.
I feel a little bit jealous actually, especially with this weather (a beer or two in the garden during the day would be nice) and given we're spending naff all being stuck inside I could probably live off 80% for a month or two.
Still, at least I'm working from home and not having to go in. When there's not much to do I end up watching an episode or two of The Office (US) on Prime, I wouldn't be able to do that if I was stuck at work. How likes this. -

Firstly, if your employer pays the £6 home working allowance, it is tax free. There is no more tax to pay on it.
Secondly, if your employer isn't paying the £6 home working allowance, then it's a matter of claiming that £6/week against your tax due (it can be done online apparently). In which case, you'll receive £1.20/week tax relief through your tax code if you're a 20% tax payer or £2.40/week if you pay tax at 40%How likes this.
