I always work from home but usually only a couple of days a week. You do get used to it but it feels strange at first.
Try and go for a walk on lunch if you have a lunch. Just round the block. and don’t work in the room you are going to be spending the evening in.
Also stick something on in the background if you don’t do much work on the phone. Tv show or the radio or something. Makes up for not having people to chat to
EDIT - Forgot to say, make sure you still take breaks and your lunch. Lock your laptop etc and go make a brew and have a sit for 10/15 mins away from the work. And as I said on lunch go for a walk and make yourself some lunch. Try not to eat sat at your work, it’s tempting to do that but I feel it concentrates you more if you come away from it

Quite happy with how the first day went. I was on the phone with those in work a fair bit trying to sort out discrepancies and errors. The wife managed to keep the distractions from the kids to a minimum so I got just as much done as I would have done in the Studio. When I finished at 5 there was no hour long journey home. I could get used to this!

Still at home 5 days a week. Talk now of going back in one day a week or fortnight but it is optional. Can’t argue really with how work has been throughout this.

Depending on your job though a benefit can be that you can choose your own hours. It's one of the things I worry about if this impacts me being self-employed so I have to go back into normal employment. I just can't do 9-5's. I'm not good at sleeping, never have been, even if I goto bed early I just won't drop off until 3am at the earliest (and by that point I'm so annoyed at having not gone to sleep then going to bed early ends up being counterproductive so I end up not going to sleep at all) so early starts aren't really on even though I'm not someone who needs 8 hours. And In a 9-5 I always have a productive crash in the afternoon to a point I just clock watch. Being self-employed means I can get up between 8am and 9am, do some of the simple work while I leisurely eat breakfast before jumping in the show. Then work between 10:30-1pm. I'll do another hour or so around 4pm and another 1-2 hours between 6pm and 9pm. Then my main work block is between 10pm and 2am, this is when I'm most productiveStop hovering to collapse... Came back to the office last week, 90% of the staff I would say are back in here now. I'd love to see some split working weeks... 3 days in the office and 2 from home. Never going to happen but it would be nice!

Started last week, not sure when it will end not been given a time frame. Biggest issue I have is our director who I do most my work with and for us over 70 now, and he’s got family who have had cancer so he won’t be back for the 12 weeks at least.
From a selfish point of view it has left me with little to do and very bored, and the view out of the office at work is fantastic. Strange how you can miss things like that about work but it just helps with the mood. I’d say all negative so far. But it’s understandable.
Wouldn’t surprise me if I’m furloughed sooner rather than later.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Storck likes this. -
I think a lot of people are shocked at how much harder it is. More distractions, more chance to just eat all day. Plus if kids are at home it is even worse. You wouldn’t take the kids into the office and expect to get all your work done so it is strange that people think they can do at home.
