If Burton had been even a small amount less wasteful with the shed load of chances they had we would have lost that game. O'Connor and McGowan were probably no more than 6 out of 10 in that game.

With the amount of crosses and free kicks are opponents we’re getting I think it was amazing we kept a clean sheet the problems were elswhere we are defending far to deep with far to much room for teams to run at us. Having said that we played well for twenty five minutes before half time where we should have had two or three ourselves

 

I agree with you that we gave Burton the freedom of Valley Parade on Tuesday and this was the main cause of our problems.

However I still don't understand how you can be sure the two incumbents are our strongest CB pairing when you haven't had an opportunity to see Killa play as one of them; that guy who won the POTY award a couple of months ago.

 

I like Killa but I think OConnor and McGowan who is getting back to match fitness are a bit quicker at the moment and have the edge however I have said I would have loved the option of Killa to compete.

 

Fair enough Park. Trouble with the current situation is that neither of us are going to get our respective wishes any time soon.

 

At the end of the day, Burton had one shot on target. We don't know if that's because they are bog eyed or because our defenders did enough to get between them and the goal and force those shots from way out. The only real "clear cut" chance they had was the last kick of the game.

 

McGowan and O'Connor probably are our best 2 options at present - however they did not play all that well on Tuesday. McGowan in particular isn't performing as he seemed to the few games he played last season. at this point, Killa should be at the very least snapping at their heels to take their place.

 

He should be on the bench just in case anything happens to either during the match

It really isn't. A good team plays well and wins, a lucky team plays bad and wins.

 

But they didn’t and we did

 

No shit, but that isn't going to be the case every week is it? If teams are creating more than us week in week out then we can't expect to ride the same luck all the time and nick 3 points.

Completely, you can't expect to keep riding your luck. We weren't a great team, we got found out eventually
