Carry on Mr Collins. I found nothing wrong with last nights interview. The man knows it wasn't the perfect performance but it's small steps with a completely new team. We worked hard to win last night, if we got "lucky" we earned it. Would people prefer we capitulate?

I just can't fathom this MC bashing, it makes no sense. It seems what ever he says people will pick holes in it. He didn't come across as arrogant to me and i'm pretty sure other people have been asking him constantly about social media rubbish.....how does he avoid it? Don't forget he's new to the interview game as well....if he ignores the question people would whinge about that too.

 

Keefly, all I would say is you are allowed your opinion as are all the other posters - but rather than trying to belittle their concerns for the club in return perhaps it would help if you had a slightly more open mind and weren't so gullible as to everything that comes out of MC's (and Edins) mouth. I find some of his comments to be a bit immature and frankly make it difficult to warm to him - I and nearly all City fans want him to succeed because that means our club is being successful, but to claim 'he knows everything that is going on and how to fix it' and criticism of him is 'just nonsense' - he just needs to show a bit of humility and a little less arrogance. We all know his CV to date and he has done bloody well to get such a big job with his background. MC has earn the fans trust and belief in him, he cannot demand this just because Edin has appointed and supported him - afterall many of us have issues with ER so called leadership. Again you have every right to be pro Edin, but dont knock those who have dont believe everything that comes out of the club right now - I still think there are plenty of valid questions and a long way to go in transforming the downturn of the past 8 months.

 

I also thought he came across as cocky given the result. Had it gone against us as it could easily have done he’d have kept his trap shut. He needs to learn when to pick his battles and when to button it. The jury is still definitely out for me on his ability. As much as the performance was greatly improved we were lucky at times and Burton will feel they should have had at least a point.

I think both Edin and Collins need to take training on how to respond to the media when asked difficult questions. I thought he comes across as defensive and arrogant, and his comments about the ‘nonsense’ is embarrassing. Say nowt!! It just looks desperate and pathetic, and the charade with the earpiece.

A piece of advice, you don’t demand respect, it arrives at your door by doing your job well, it doesn’t arrive by criticising those who question your decision making.

I am pleased the team won, a win is a win, but we rode our luck in the second half. Plenty of work still to be done. That midfield pairing needs sorting out and fast. Balls were going right through the middle.

 

I don’t think Edin picks the team however I do think edin is influenced by opinion both on social media and in general the guys a ego maniac as a mental health professional he displays characteristics of being a sociopath shit rolls down hill and edin will be making sure the dominos shot effect is felt by everyone -His influence will be subtle and like every ego eccentric he manipulates - MC believes he’s working autonomously but he’s influenced

He will know he was an outsider given the chance by edin he’s unlikely to come out and say he’s a puppet but edin like all control freaks has given collins the impression he’s running things and Collins will doth his cap because he knows he’s in a position he shouldn’t be in

Whatever comes out of the club is Fake news
If I made as many mistakes as edin at work I’d be a goner how rupp perceives what is going on is anyone’s guess but someone like edin needs reigning in Rupp obv doesn’t do that he is probably filtered information and finds out what he needs to know

Just shows how much we miss Mason, who would have handled this professionally and would have given Collins the media guidance he so badly needs.

 

I find that embarrassing if I’m honest.

We’ve had a fair to middling start. Two clean sheets and 9th position with a half decent platform, certainly if we win against Wycombe on Saturday where we should be winning.

But just get your head down Collins and manage the team if that’s the case and answer the question but what are these David Brent style jokes about?

Get a grip and get on with it.

His press work needs work. He’s got a lot to learn. Why give anyone any more ammo? Just answer the questions and be bullish about it but he seems too involved in what people are saying about the club. Like no manager I have ever known before. Shows naivety. Manage the team and let the players and results do your talking

 

Another Edin Rahic thread, just what the doctor ordered. I hate talking about the football, talking about this is far more interesting for 15 hours a day.

Bloody hell man that's not the point is it, why can't you seem to understand that we're not going to get away with playing like that and that we were lucky they didn't put one of their 5 clear cut chances away. Do you watch the game or just look at the scoreline? Seems to be the latter.

 

I agree How. For someone who says they take no notice of social media "nonsense " he did rather seem to be focusing on dispelling the untruths as he saw them. What else could he have said? "Yes, Edin does pick the team"?

He showed naivety by sounding slightly cocky on the back of a result that could very easily gone against us instead of for us.

He said he wanted respect and that they knew what they were doing. When he convinces me that he does indeed know what he is doing on a consistent basis and is getting improved performances out of our players he will have my absolute respect. Until then, he will have to make do with just my support and very best wishes.

 

I think it’s embarrassing that you actually expected ‘a puppet’ to come out and deny the claims. If (and I’m not saying it is true) it was true, did you really expect Collins to do anything other than dismiss the rumours? Really?

If Edin isn’t involved, what is the REAL reason that Killa has been frozen out? You don’t really believe it is a footballing decision?

That might be the case now they have had game time together but Collins played KnightPersavil at Shrewsbury and had McGown on the bench.
I don't believe it's down to football matters, to not have him in the team is up for debate but to not have him on the bench is criminal, but of course that's just my opinon.

 

Park, on another day Burton could have had 5. We didn't defend well. O'Connor & McGowan didn't play well.

We were very fortunate.

Only Scannell played well.
