I've just been talking to a friend living in Surrey who took his family for their first City match tonight and we've got some new fans! They loved the intensity and he said every player from front to back worked their socks off. He had read a lot of negatives about Kai and didn't know what to expect when he found he was starting the game but he says he played well and caused their defenders a good few problems. This view seems to have been reflected by other comments on Twitter and by Hopkin, maybe we can make a player out of him after all. Payne was the best player on the pitch but everyone put a big shift in. Onwards and upwards.

He clearly isn't of a professional standard. He puts in the effort - but so would I.

A couple of moments stood out for me last night. The only 2 times I actually remember him being near the ball.

    1. Second half, he won a 50-50 of sorts and managed to get the ball at his feet with a few yards of open grass. Options left and right but he was heads down and basically just ran into their defender. Amateur stuff.
    2. First half, a looping ball in the air. He was unmarked and jumped to flick it on. He didn't even connect with the ball. Sunday League stuff.

He's just not a pro. And he's not a kid.

Ball needs to be in the team. And if Hopkin just wants a lump, stick Tom Clare in. Lets see what he's got. He can't be worse.

That’s the thing though - the Rothmans end of season book will say “Wimbledon 0-1 Bradford City”. It won’t say it was fortuitous, or Wimbledon had one cleared off the line and hit the side netting.

A clean sheet against Bristol Rovers and a point was a good step to stopping the losing run. We kept another last night and we won.

No one is saying we aren’t a poor side but can’t we just be glad that we ground out a result, no matter how “fortuitous” it was - we came back with the 3 points.

I agree with that. We’re a poor team so expecting good football is unrealistic. Until Hopkin has a chance - and the backing - to build a better team, grinding out points is all we’re good for. A few min crap 1-0s over the next few weeks will do just fine.

But let’s be honest, if we don’t repair this clusterf*ck, at least partly, in January, and inject some quality and entertainment then watch ticket sales absolutely nosedive for next season. And quite possibly, league 2 football will beckon.

I watched about 60 mins of the game on Ifollow
If there are 7's & 8's in yesterdays showing , then Gary Jones would have been getting 14 every week.

Close but no cigar, our win ratio is 50% when he starts but the stats since he joined in Jan are incredible:

    Kai starts: P6 W3 D2 L1 F7 A4 Pts11

    Kai doesn't start: P23 W3 D5 L15 F14 A39 Pts14

The only defeat when he has started was the 0-2 against Southend when he went off injured after 15 minutes.

I'm off to re-evaluate everything I thought I knew about football.

I agree with you, but being described as a “coupon buster” for an away game at AFC Wimbledon really does put tears in my eyes of how far we’ve descended (so far)

I'd normally take a point from pretty much any away game but feel we need a win before the Sunderland game otherwise we're going to be in a shocking position both in terms of the league position and mentality.

Nearly spit my coffee out this morning, love this Hoppy quote in the T&A

"I’ve told the boys that everybody who is in that squad right now is there on merit, and it’s up to the injured players to work their way back in."

For the first time in forever I don't even care what the score is. After years of going away to Bournemouth on a cold Tuesday night getting back at 4am or being one of the 36 that went to watch us get smashed by Wrexham in the ldv vans or going away to fk Atlantis, I simply have stopped caring.

Gibson is another one of these the fans scream to play but never actually does much when he does.

Scores the odd goal off of the bench and then gets a start and offers very little

Kai is going to destroy Wimbledon and get offered a 10 year contract. No seriously reckon he’s going to bag a brace.
