How was McCall unlucky in league 2. He was given a very good budget to have a right good go, got off to a good start in his second season, and blew it, and the pressure got to him.

You are right about Parky having good cup runs, in fact the best in all the years I have watched City. McCall didnt have one decent cup run

 

So a manager as you agree with with the best win % since the early 1980s and one that got us to a wembley final in this division unlike PARKIE had tried numerous times before. Football quality is to be undermined as it too much flair and not enough hoof!

Yes but what does that actually mean in terms of numbers? If every team in the league (excluding Celtic of course) has a budget between £1.8m and £2m for example then the ranking isn't particularly important. If there's a large spread then it would be more impressive.

I have read them before. They were good achievements.

The league being significantly weaker than the days of Larsson and Gazza plus the fact that only half of the old firm were present obviously made it easier (once again not easy though) to achieve things that hasn't been done before.

 

In his second season he had the best budget in the league and we were sailing on nicely then he lost a couple and he didn’t have a clue. Ring a bell this season

 

the sheer disrespect shown towards McCall from some city "fans" really is unbelievable.

So its obviously a sentimental thing (ha ha)

If you want to compare with other managers just ask. Just to strengthen the sentimental thingy ;-)

Phil had a few excellent cup runs, but in bread and butter league McCall way out performs better.

 

Ha ha, take out the cup and base it on bread and butter league. It may hurt but Stuart managed to do in 1 season that Phil could not in many. Get to a league cup final.

You may dismiss stats but take away PhIls cup run and his stats are not that great.

Ye in League 1 McCalls stats are way better than Phils in the league but because our owner (deluded) wants promotion with a mid table budget he must do this despite a lesser budget to Phils in past years but from realistic chairpersons?

Does not make sense. You are been hoodwinked by the we are going for auto next time (Rupp) and we are pushing for a top 2 (Rahic) mentality.

all win % chart inc all competitive games. Sorry got this wrong, McCall has the best League stats since McFarland (Best ever) and in all comps since Dolan not Cherry.

Win percentages mean nowt it’s winning the matches that count and being able to stop the rot when it sets in that counts

I showed you many examples were Phil had horrible / terrible runs. If he was sacked in any of them. Then what?

He was sacked after a terrible run where he admitted he had no answer. He had a terrible run the first time he was here he had no answer. As was stated in another Post Parky took over a team described as the worst in our history it took some turning round. And another was just after promotion where we were finding our feet.

 

For all I would prefer Grayson to stay on, it looks unlikely.

So I've voted for a younger Manager, in the hope players can identify with him, as well as bringing a fresh approach and up to date method of coaching. Bellamy would not be a bad call - He has interviewed 'well' for other positions, so he must have 'something' going for him.

Edit ....... Offer Bellamy a 6 month contract (He'd be tempted to take it), with an option, in Citys favour to extend a further 18 months in January.

 

We're not talking about next season though. Whether the chairmen are more realistic is debatable though. I seem to remember PP having to scrabble around to sign trialists including Morais on 6 month contracts but still being expected to achieve promotion.

McCall's stats are better partly because he was starting from a different base. He was building from a core group of players who had just been beat by Millwall in the play offs.
