Sorry but I can't subscribe to this idea of playing Mellor and Wood as wingers infront of two full backs in a must win home game, it's far too defensive.

 

Playing Wood and Mellor as wingers, christ we've hit rock bottom to even be thinking something like that.

 

I agree he needs to shake it up somehow. No matter how much he can lift them, the same players in the same formation just isn't going to work......................but Wright FFS - I assume that was tongue in cheek

 

GB said he’s giving all the players a clean slate. Will fans adopt the same attitude? Personally, I’d welcome anyone back as long as they assure manager they'll run through brick walls for him.

I actually like your Patrick thinking, whilst he’s not very good he would give us some much needed pace out wide

Never thought I’d say this but think Payne should give way, we’ve become too predictable

What I do want to see is some organisation and a bit of fight in the side.
For too long we crumble at the first bit of pressure. It would be nice to see a city side who can defend for once. That way we will give ourselves a chance of survival.

Question for those dedicated souls who went to Portsmouth. Did Wood do anything to show he's a better left back than Chicksen? I think Wood looks better in that left midfield role and gives us some of the width we want

Melor and Wood are the closest we have to wingers. I'd stick them in and see if they can provide us with some much needed width.

 

If we go one upfront then the routine will be 45 minutes with barely a shot in anger or on target.

If City want the points then 2 strikers is a must, go back to what worked in december.

Otherwise, pretty passes with no end product.

Should be fun if Bowyer picks a. o'connor.

If Bowyer picks A.O'Connor we need to contemplate our actions.

If we get on his back it could destroy the game for us.We may need
to hold back and see if he tries to make amends by putting in a
monumental performance.

It's no good prioritising our discontent 're Portsmouth when a victory
is vital.

Mellor back to that right sided midfield role he did well - bit more height in the side, dropping back to help Butterfield screen the back 4. Payne as a 10, Ball further forward.

 

That doesn’t look a bad side. It has been screaming for two strikers and a bit more solid defence. There has been too much congestion in midfield.
