As a fan, give me Lawn all day long over these clueless idiots running the club now. He was a proper businessman and loved the team. Can’t say either of those things for Rupp sparks gent etc

I have it on good authority that Rupp IS talking to Gibb about buying the ground, and part of the sticking point is getting money knocked off the price for some very expensive work that needs doing on it (basically a whole new plumbing system), also that Rupp has loaned the club another £900,000 this season.

Keep sending the letters though lads and we might just scare him off the idea.
Get a flight to Germany to scare his family and it’ll be a done deal.
Rupp has done nothing wrong, it’s the people he’s employed that are to blame for this shambles

£900k to do what? Sparks said our budget was around £2.8 million so what we could only muster £1.9 million from record turnover. Sorry it doesn’t add up, just like it doesn’t that the pension fund would sell a golden goose, unlike some on here they aren’t daft and know we have nowhere else to go.

Why do you keep saying we have nowhere to go?
Where did Coventry go? Northampton (31 miles away) then Birmingham (20 miles away).
Why can’t we go to Rochdale, Bury, Oldham or Barnsley? Halifax we’ll dismiss because of pitch problems?

    Other examples.
Harrogate played at Donny for half a season
    Newport played at Cardiff
Even the mighty Barcelona with the 90k stadium have found a temporary home.

    stop being obtuse.

Coventry who were hated by their fans you mean and got crowds of about 3k? I know you and Park have a fetish for getting rid of fans for your own self importance, but the rest of us would rather not kill the club with your silly suggestions. Nothing obtuse about it, just common sense.

Mate we are talking about a desperate situation where we cannot afford the rent at VP, nobody wants to leave but we might have to.

.. and which may never happen and certainly not in the immediate future. I suggest you stop your scaremongering until the club announces how many STs if has sold for next season and inforns us all about the consequences of that. There's a lot of water to flow under the VP pitch before the club has to consider whether it has to play elsewhere.

There's a huge amount of doubting his ability on that front. The cycle of manager hires and settlements, poor use of recruitment funds, the massive erosion of his customer base.

Commercial leadership is about much more than winning a low value local sponsorship deal.

The answer is a joint investment between the council, City and the bulls for a modern new stadium and regeneration project. But that'll never happen.

So the answer has to be a buy-back from the owner, to ease the rent pressure and invest in fabric and infrastructure of the club. Also never going to happen.

So its as-you-were. Which is why we're in this decline.

    Basically - we're f**ked.

He needs a credible, new plan alternative. Big boy stuff. Even if its a bluff, it needs to look real and like something we'd be willing to do. And to bluff properly, we actually need to be willing to do it.

Gibb has us over a barrel, unless we create another barrel. Then the tables turned, because no-one else is buying or using VP. The only interest would be from property developers - and who the hell is building houses in that spot?

I wouldn’t put it past the council, they’d forever spend money they haven’t got on stupid vanity projects under the delusion that it’s winning them some brownie points from the local communities…

We’re all worried about the future of the club, despite differences of opinions on here. But we’d still have to pay rent elsewhere, probably £200k per year? We currently pay £438k, imo the loss of fans from a move would be far more than a £238k save, plus we’d still have to rent the training ground. It’s a non starter imo and others and I’m confident with their business acumen that the pension fund are confident of the situation. If anyone knows it would be @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler I'm sure he’ll say the same that we aren’t going anywhere, so it’s irrelevant and a pointless discussion. It didn’t get a mention when we were at Wembley against Millwall and for those years before.

Here is the correct usage of the word obtuse. I don’t think @WilsdenBantam@WilsdenBantam is an accurate description of the post that Wilsden posted.

I realise this is a stressful time for fans but insulting each other just to reinforce your own viewpoint is divisive. We have to try and stay together during this time.

The council would prefer the recently announced multi mullion pound scheme to 'upgrsde' Kings Road by creating bus and cycle lanes. That's how the Labour led loonies at town Hall would prefer to spend our council tax mate

His threat to move to Odsal and remove all the fixtures and fittings from Valley Parade didn’t work and just peed of Gibb even more!

    Get Lawn back in.

He no longer has to have nightmares about funding the club in the Championship.

I’d vote for Apperley Bridge! Few local pubs with more in Rawdon, Guiseley and Yeadon. Might upset Bradford Council with everyone drinking in Leeds or might get them to assist in buying VP and supporting the town centre.

The LABOUR led council would prefer to build more hotels in the city centre to house the illegal small boat people.
When they don’t need hotels anymore, they’ll build more mosques.
Building a state of the art sports stadium than can serve both its professional sports clubs is way down the list of its priorities mainly because 50% of the city’s residents would never use it.
