If the current lease is replaced like for like then the rent will keep rising so even back in League One it would be a big chunk of our income.

They have made there money back and more they know they have got us by the short and curlys thats the sad thing about it

Of course they would sell, In 3 years time we could walk away and play elsewhere, that's if we are still in business.
The income from the rent is not guaranteed until the option is taken up.

Rupp has done nothing wrong, it’s the people he’s employed that are to blame for this shambles

 

Mate we are talking about a desperate situation where we cannot afford the rent at VP, nobody wants to leave but we might have to.

 

He needs a credible, new plan alternative. Big boy stuff. Even if its a bluff, it needs to look real and like something we'd be willing to do. And to bluff properly, we actually need to be willing to do it.

Gibb has us over a barrel, unless we create another barrel. Then the tables turned, because no-one else is buying or using VP. The only interest would be from property developers - and who the hell is building houses in that spot?

 

We’re all worried about the future of the club, despite differences of opinions on here. But we’d still have to pay rent elsewhere, probably £200k per year? We currently pay £438k, imo the loss of fans from a move would be far more than a £238k save, plus we’d still have to rent the training ground. It’s a non starter imo and others and I’m confident with their business acumen that the pension fund are confident of the situation. If anyone knows it would be @wetherbywhaler I'm sure he’ll say the same that we aren’t going anywhere, so it’s irrelevant and a pointless discussion. It didn’t get a mention when we were at Wembley against Millwall and for those years before.

 

I’ll stop the scaremongering when the club release a statement stating that the VP rent is not holding us back, is manageable and will always be our home no matter how many tickets we sell or which division we might find ourselves in.
But they won’t do that because it would be lies.

 

Nothing that money couldn't solve. After all VP was a dump before it was rebuilt.
Not that I think any money will magically appear. I guess we will stay at VP and keep paying the rent.
