The problem with the ground is no serious buyer would come in for us without a way to buy the ground.Can you imagine the figure Gibb would come up with if a buyer with serious money came forward.

I’d vote for Apperley Bridge! Few local pubs with more in Rawdon, Guiseley and Yeadon. Might upset Bradford Council with everyone drinking in Leeds or might get them to assist in buying VP and supporting the town centre.

What makes you think it's funded by council tax? Much more likely to be funded by central government with the funds being ring fenced.

 

Correct, the money comes from the West Yorkshire authority and is backed by the government in the hope we all abandon our cars and catch the bus, or even better cycle, the same with the one going to run up Thornton road.

Yes, best leave it to sht cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen et al. . . . even London is getting in on the act. We will just keep building more roads coz it's known that it reduces traffic. As usual Bradford will lag behind.
Just for your information I can cycle up any hill in Bradford that you care to name, I'm mid 60's and have been cycling for just over 1 year. And it ain't an electric bike either. I did meet a woman who was 74 who had an electric bike. She told me that the 'hills just disappear' with her bike.
Oh and BTW in that year of cycling I lost 10 Kg, from an unhealthy 84 Kg down to 74 Kg. I just might save the NHS some long term expensive diabetes treatment. . . . hopefully.

 

I think that’s to be applauded but having seen some of the driving in Bradford, I’m not sure I’d want to ride a bike in Bradford again. (Many moons back I used to ride from Wickes on cemetery rd to Allied colloids and back every day. Always felt safe but hard to imagine it now.
