When and if we get a second wave trust me the Nightingale Hospitals will be a very welcome addition. People will still run the government down though i guess. Pathetic !

Wouldn't run the government down for opening hospitals at the time they did; it's probably the only bit of planning they did. The rest of their decisions appear haphazard and knee jerk at best. The protective wear dealings were to quote yourself, pathetic. Mr B. I hope that one of your earlier posts wasn't indicating that they took note and learned from the situation in Italy. A final point; if you stand on your rostrum day after day, look squarely at the camera and lie, no one will know when you actually come out with the truth.

The UK new case figure has broken 1000 today but it should be remembered the number of tests performed has increased by nearly half in the last month. The 7-day averages are new cases up 52% on tests up 45%. Today has been boosted a bit by another of those factory outbreaks. Will this one spread? Previous ones don't seem to have.

UK "reported" deaths continue to fall steadily as do English hospital deaths by date of death - down about 40% and 50% respectively in the last month. (Germany has trebled daily new cases since mid-June yet daily deaths are down 2/3rds in the same time.)

I've voted for both conservatives and Labour in equal measures over my lifetime. I don't have any bias at all between them.

That's not the point though. The point was about the masks that were bought and then decided not to be used. I prefer Kier to Boris at the moment.

The reason that they weren't used wasn't because they were faulty or defective. They simply had ear loops and the medical experts decided that masks with full head straps gave a better fit so the ear loop masks were put to one side. Now, if anybody wants to explain why thats a disgrace or a failing then I'm fine with it.

Bearing in mind that the masks are being used in a working environment, sometimes in intense emergency, that should not take too much working out. The point is, our government should have known the required specifications prior to placing the order which now looks as though it was done in panic.

The advice changed as we learnt more through.

At the height of the PPE crisis I'm guessing that even masks with ear loops are better than no mask at all.

For us public, yes will agree with that. The masks if ok should be saleable

There won't be any to use. The NEC is just about emptied and the London one is being dismantled next week. They will be starting in Manchester and Harrogate in the next couple of weeks.

And I think that's worthy of review but I'm not top concerned about the structure of the company. To me it's about the people behind it and their reliability to source the equipment rather than company status. Now if the masks had been dodgy then I'd have outright agreed but when it's simply that some of them had a type of strap that turned out not to be preferred but would have done in an emergency then it's not too much of a big deal.

For example. We have a customer at work who during the pandemic had the skills and resources to make sanitizer. When they decided to go down that route it was a big risk so rather than absorb all that risk into the existing company they utilised a seperate limited company specifically for the sanitizer so that if it all went tits up the "base" company wouldn't be affected. They didn't get a government contract as far as I'm aware but if they had it would have looked like it had been awarded to a new company with zero assets but all above board.

The government also were allowed to bypass all the usual procurement rules because they enacted - rightly I'm sure you'll agree - emergency protocols to be able to move quicker.

When I buy something, like most people, I know beforehand what is needed to do what I want. Sorry Park, you're an old bastard like me but you can't go on forever making lame excuses

No I don't but I see faults in things hence my decision.

However, Mr positive! Mr Nothing is wrong with the world i would have thought would be living in Bradford and being this super fan he makes out. Just interest why he's where he is. Nothing wrong with that and as long as he's happy I couldn't care. Just interested

Labour are closing in and closing in fast.

People are not happy with who the Covid has been handled and unless you live in a bubble you would understand that.

No people don't understand how difficult a situation is as when you require leadership then you expect it. Boris isn't a leader and thats clear.

Sorry but I'm not very bright. Can you translate into ordinary man's english. Thought Boris was a journalist(who was sacked for not being truthful) not a QC(tho the labour leader had to work hard to attain that position).
