I have issues with Adams but we are one point of the play offs and the first half performance yesterday was probably better than anything we have seen in recent years. There is still a lot to play for

Where is the money coming from to fund January? We've got what is probably a nominal fee from Crankshaw to add to the already maxed out budget from the summer. That isn't going to be enough to sign the 5 first XI ready players we need. Unless Rupp invests, January will be yet another disappointment.

To add context that first half display was against the worst 45 minutes of away team football I've seen for many a year yet we only have 1 goal to our name. Our first half display wasn't as good as Adams likes to think it was.

    Money is coming from where?

All teams will look to build in Jan.

    Angel could be injury prone.

Yep, i have seen far too many lets wait till January messages creeping in here lately.
They must have been asleep at the end of August when Derek wanted to bring in another midfielder and a forward to offset the Angol injury and the taps were turned off.
rupp aint helping out, if anything he is looking to help himself get some monies back.
Wont be long before the one out, one in rumours start up.

Were the signings good or was it the " blinkered Bradford City fan" syndrome?

Gilliead and Kelleher have 18m left on their contracts, Robinson, Evans, Foulds and Lavery six months.
You’ve got to convince someone to take their contracts over or pay them off. Let’s say we do a bit of both but that’s a couple of hundred grand, then you have to sign six quality players, that’s another big spend.

We apparently maxed out the budget to sign Robinson, a player so valued by Adams he won’t play him when the players are on their arses.

That’s the reality of the club that Stefan Rupp built. There’s no money. A big hike in season ticket prices so you pay for his mistakes over the last five years so that he can sell and get his money back.

There is no white knight arriving in January, this is the future of Bradford City under Rupp. Bargain basement football and hoping to get lucky by getting promoted.

Disagree the first half was a good example of pressing football and Bristol were not allowed to play. The moment we scored there was visible easing off as if the job was done. But in this instance I agree with Adams until we scored it was very good

If you watch very closely Rovers were incapable of even doing basic things right first half, it was a display worthy of national league North standard. And yet the only goal we could muster was because of a goalkeeping error. You may think that's excellent, I thought it wasn't much better than standard league 2 football.

Definitely the latter. Look at all the 'best January window for years' comments earlier this year that turned out to be some what premature. Vernam and Canavan have turned out to be decent enough signings and Cook who was on loan at that time and is now our player I would also put in that bracket. The only other player singed in January that is still at the club is Foulds because we offered him a new contract - is he good enough if the aim this year is promotion? I'd say no.
The summer signing of Angol wasn't seen as a good signing at the time, but he made an excellent start for us before his injury and we can only hope that he continues from where he left off when he returns, and that he manages to stay injury free for the rest of the season (doubtful imo).
Eisa might yet turn out to be a decent signing, but he's already missed nearly a quarter of the season and it looks like he is going to miss a considerable amount more.
I think Songo'o is a decent addition but no more than that at the moment. I have a feeling that he is not 100% fit and hope that he will get better.
Ridehalgh has done alright. Threlkeld is no better than FCD imo. Gilliead flattered to deceive in his two previous spells at the club and continues to do so, Kelleher is a non league footballer, and nobody ever thought Lavery and Robinson were good signings full stop, never mind 'on paper'.

So what we have is a handful of 'decent enough' players, and whilst 'decent enough' players don't get you relegated, they don't get you promoted either.

@Fordy117@Fordy117 as he was making a similar point.

obviously i am expecting some outs too, we managed to get rid of Guthrie and BRE last jan so may be able to push some players out.

The crankshaw money is being saved for jan so hopefully with the scouting network in place we can get some talent through the door.

But finishing is part and parcel of football. People don't seem to be taking into account just how bad Bristol Rovers were that first half, credit to Barton for turning it around.

Not sure Robinson or Lavery were the players Adams was chasing, when ever I heard him he's sounded disappointed with the likes of those two, if they were his transfer target why isn't he giving them game time.

We might not be in sight then. Automatic spots are starting to run away from us already.

Every team look at improving in Jan. We need to think about the here and now because what we are producing isn't good enough in terms of results.

They are and I'm disappointed we didn't take 2/3 of those chances but our first have performance was as good if not better than the Stevenage game that night we took our chances, yesterday we didn't.
I'd be far more worried if we weren't making chances.

No the fact that Turnbull has gone and Adams has people he's happy to scout for his type of players suggests otherwise.
