get the insurance assessors in on both Jones and Reeves, get them paid off if past it, on the pitch if putting it on, you can't mess about with expensive contracts when players are not playing/training to the full because of twinges and niggles. The club should cash in there contracts/call their bluff at least,.

Hopkin makes a fair point or two.
The longer you are unfit, the longer the rehabilitation - Both physically and mentally. Reeves needs to think long and hard about his future. He has not played long or high enough to have earned enough to 'retire'.
If pushing himself to the MAX makes or breaks him - so be it ....... At least he'll know, and can plan for any future in or out of football. To give up without trying is no good for him or the Club.
As @Fordy117@Fordy117 might say .... 'City need triers and winners, not defeatists'.

We know Reeves has ability ........... It's now down to him to take that onto the pitch ........ Every game.

I thought this earlier - maybe it's now more a mental issue than a physical issue? May be another Billy Knott type situation? I've no experience of it but I'd imagine if you are off work for a certain amount of time it becomes a mental issue and would grind you down.

Yes. We saw a fully fit McCartan become mentally weak last season ............ Now look at him - Pulling up trees for Lincoln!!
Jake needs to ask himself is he a footballer, or 'bottler'. You can never be both, unless you aspire to play in the National leagues North or South. (And then the regrets begin - but too late to change things.)

What I mean is it could have become a mental health issue, similar to Knott with depression/anxiety.

Of course ......... I felt McCartan was obviously depressed. Even in team 'warm ups' he appeared 'distracted'.

We signed him knowing he was carrying this problem - why? We have never seen him fully fit - so will City fans see a return for the wages he has drawn it is looking increasingly unlikely. Is it time to release him January and replace him with a player where we get more value for our money.

Jake must surely be aware of such a possibility ? Being released through 'mutual consent' (with no recent game time) would make it almost impossible to kick-start his career anywhere in the EFL. Let's wait and see how much patience Hopkin and the Board have.

Shame for both the player and City.
I seem to recall he was going to be a significant upgrade on Cullen

Said it when we bought him, and confirmed after seeing him action. Those fans who thought he was an upgrade on Cullen, were either off their faces, or know nothing about football

I would have thought that given the length of time he has been unavailable for selection either club insurance or personal insurance would be paying his wages ?

I am sure Mr Reeves will not be out of pocket - would he be insured given he was allegedely carrying an injury when he arrived

As said at the time Cullen was never our player and was above our level

Why we were comparing him to any of our players I’m not sure

He looked a class act in pre season. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it's a bit harsh to see that people who rated him 'know nothing about football'. Maybe you somehow predicted a drop in form or reasonably decided to reserve judgment as pre season can be misleading but in his first month at the club he looked a genuine prospect. A totally different player from what we saw after October '17.

Catmuck. Reeves will have plenty of EFL contracts offered to him if he's released..........and fit.

What a cack thread, if he's unfit to play then he's unfit to play, what is to be gained from forcing an unfit player to play? I know Ricc alludes to other things but you can only go on what you read.

To be fair, due to hols, I missed 3 of the first 4 games of last season, so probably missed his bezt games.

However, having seen him in pre season, Where yes, he did look a decent player. My point at the time, and still is, was that he was never an upgrade on Cullen.

If he was fit now, there is no doubt, that he would walk into our team, no question of that. But we have gone so far backwards since Cullen was here, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

    Cullen was not our player....

    Why don't people get that?

Of course we've gone backwards, he was on loan from a Premiership club

How long is left on Reeves' contract?

I'm excited to live out the perennial nonsense about how he might change our fortunes if he ever gets fit.
