When do we start to question Hopkin?

We have seen a slight improvement in recent weeks but you can't fully judge hopkin without a transfer window behind him as I said yesterday you wouldn't ask a joiner to build you something without the correct tools he requires.

 

Compare the October and November results. If you can't see an improvement then you either can't read or there's a big problem with your cognition.

No he doesn't but at the moment it is impossible to assess him. The one thing that is clear is how Edin shafted Michael just as he shafted Stuart; 2 fellow human beings.

We ARE improving.
In October our record (in all competitions) was:
P7 W1 D0 L6 GF6 GA19
In November our record was:
P7 W1 D3 L3 GF8 GA12

Which means we scored more, conceded considerably fewer, lost fewer games and got more points. By any yardstick that is improvement, and if you can't see that then there's no hope for you.

EVERYONE understands that this still isn't good enough. The difference is that, unlike you, most sensible fans don't expect Hopkin to have turned this bunch of misfits into world beaters overnight. Most people realise that it takes time to turn such a poor, mismatched squad into a functioning team. The signs are that this is happening (eg we are making fewer individual errors, conceding fewer goals and showing more fight if we go behind).
The fact that most people aren't slagging Hopkin doesn't mean they 'lack ambition' (your favourite trite mantra) - it means they recognise that Hopkin has a difficult job on his hands and is starting to turn things around. Most people can recognise improvement when they see it, unlike you.

 

If Rupp doesn't back him it's not Hopkins fault is it. He said on radio yesterday we need another 4 players at least in jan. First thing that struck me with hopkin is he said the players weren't fit enough and he felt as if they hadn't had a pre season,that takes time to build up them upto speed but now players are actually lasting the distance of 90 mins. Yes results could and should be better but if you are judging hopkin on what he has had to change he ain't no miracle worker.

 

What exactly does 'performances haven't improved' mean?

If the stats have improved, chances are, performances have improved (otherwise stats would be the same...) . So how does that make sense?

'Performance' is an undefinable intangible used in the absence of real evidence.

Who is this "we" you allude to? You certainly don't speak for the fans of this great club.

 

He's right Fordy. We are not weak but understand what has happened cannot be overturned at the click of fingers. We are improving, albeit slowly as David has only been able to work with what he has got. We are in a mess and it will take a lot of hard work to get out of it. We might go down this season, we might not but by going forward together, we will get back.
