That AOC is a total tool? I noticed yesterday he tore into Tyler French a couple of times. The manner he did it in seemed somewhat over the top considering it was the lads professional debut and a bit of a baptism of fire to say the least.

Contrast that to Paudie when AOC played that horror pass that gifted PNE the third goal. Went straight over to AOC (who I think was on the deck), picked him up and appeared to give him a bit of an arm round the shoulder type of chat. Already liked Paudies attitude but I thought that was class. Particularly as it was with AOC who clearly would never have done the same.

 

Calling for his head at this stage is sheer lunacy. The market is still open for transfers/loans so there is still time to add to what is looking an average league 2 squad as it stands. Its clear at the moment the pre season hype and feel good factor masked over problems still here from last season and that dilemmas like Robinson and Reeves and over rated players like Patrick and Akpan won't just simply go away. Bowyers first job is to get a couple of players in to strengthen that midfield, doing this could save his season. Then he has to strategise a style of play that means the getting the best out of players at his disposal and not hanging players out to dry like Henley and Doyle. And he has to act fast, his period of goodwill is running out and his reputation will be based on this seasons results.

 

Let's have him out after 2 league games and a Cup game against a well organised Championship team, I cant believe some of the comments, yes I thought we would be playing better stuff than we've seen so far but calling for his head is foolhardy IMO.

 

Even if you inherit the worst squad to ever exist, the rebuild should be easy and results immediate.

 

The problem Bowyer has, is the expensive dross that he inherited, and hasn't been able to get rid of, apart from Fordy's favourite Essex boy.

Bowyer did say that it would take more than one transfer window to get his own team in place. The problem he has, is do the fans or owner, have the patience for this. I suspect a lot of fans wont.

Billy Clarke, who is out of contract, was there at the game tonight as a fan.

I'd have him in that side in the Doyle role over Doyle in a heartbeart!

 

Unless the results are disastrous and the performances poor in the coming weeks, I would have the patience to stick with him. When he got Blackpool promoted at the first attempt, I believe they were mid table in February, before everything clicked into place.

I know people are sick of the repeated excuse, but he is genuinely still been hampered badly, by the dreadful recruitment policy of Rahic. The only big minus for me about him so far, is offering Anderson and Devine new contracts, just dont get that.

 

He would have been first out of the door for me. Having a go at a young lad in his first appearance and out of position. I just hope his confidence isn’t shaken. GB needs to take him to one side and reassure him. He also needs to give mouth almighty a few choice words!

Dont think anybody, other than Bowyer, can. Its a mystery what he sees in him to offer him a new contract

 

We cling onto this 2nd September as each week goes by and still nothing changes, let’s not forgot the areas we are short have not been addressed all summer.

 

It’s tough with our fans. You get 6 games to start producing results. If you don’t youre out and we want another. And repeat.

In your case it's not.
I believe most reasonable fans were quite happy to give the manager and players from last season a reasonable length of time before they were judged hence my three game comment I posted 10 games but that's hardly long enough, we have seen teams struggling at Christmas and been in the play offs come May.
Christ some are saying tomorrows game is crucial/a must win/critical, yes we'd all like three points but the Oldham game will not define our season, so we need to stop putting pressure on the manager, the players, but most of all us fans and if we don't get three points some may vent their feelings by booing which won't help anyone.

 

We've rolled the dice several times.

Grayson is a proven manager. Hopkin's record was excellent. Bowyer's record at crackpot clubs is very impressive.

What do you actually want?

It's pretty obvious that the managers aren't the reason we're failing.
