Whats this fixation with Parky possibly coming back? He was the right man at the right time. He’s gone, a few years ago. Lets move on, loads of decent candidates out there.

 

I think we should go with the opinion of those who wanted Hopkin to leave. They obviously know the man they want because they’ve wanted change from last November and had 4 months to think about it.

So drumroll please...........

 

Evans has a criminal conviction for tax fraud related to transfer activities when he was manager of Boston United. He should have been banned from the game at that point.

 

I think Bantam Pete applied last time so don't be thinking they are all genuine.

He joined Mansfield on 16th November 2016. At the time Mansfield were 11th in the league. In spite of having over half a season in charge to improve their position where did they finish? 12th. Great performance that.

Next season Mansfield were doing a lot better. But on 27th February 2018, yes this week, what did he do? He walked out and left them. Next day he joined Peterborough! Well done.

Now then let's look at Peterborough. He was signed to help get them in the playoffs. At the time Peterborough were in 8th place, played 34 and on 50 points. A few weeks later come the end of the season where were they? 9th. Yes, one place lower. And that's with the league's top scorer Jack Marriott. In the 12 games he was there that season Peterborough got 14 points. I don't know how he would get 14 points with our lot and would it be enough anyway?

Don't even mention this season's performance at Peterborough.

So looking at his record over the last couple of seasons or so I cannot see anything that would make Steve Evans be our saviour. And I haven't even mentioned his frequently talked about morals or his pitch side manner.

So it's a No from me.

 

Why not? Because the club shouldn't be throwing in the towel and writing the season off when there are 12 games and 36 points still to play for and we are 3 points off 20th, with plenty of teams still in the relegation mix. We are in a mess but let's not make things even worse by pussying out of the fight.

 

The way they've defended this season I'd see us getting absolutely annihilated under Hill.

 

Now’s not the time for Robbie Blake types, first timers, we need proven. If Hurst is interested as the T&A suggest then for me we should be going all out to tie him down into next season, a CV that covers keeping teams up, promotion and success in this league.

 

Absolutely not @Fordy117 . Leaving aside his past crimes, disgraceful behaviours and acrimonious history with our club, he is clearly not the right footballing man for the job at hand.

Evans likes to bring in his own choice of players - he won't have that option. He is a disciplinarian and a bully. That style may work with some players, particularly those whom he has brought to the club and who therefore owe him something. It's highly unlikely to work with a squad of loanees (who won't be here next season) or those on long contracts (who can pocket their wages whether or not they are playing first team football).

Our only chance of staying up is to appoint someone who'll organise, inspire and motivate the players and keep the fans onside. We need to create a bandwagon effect, and fast. A man with a substantial track record of creating discord and resentment in dressing rooms and on the terraces is the very last thing we need right now.

Even having him in charage of Saturday's game is a mistake

 

Look the guys a proven cheat. He'll stop at nothing to gain an advantage by fair means or foul. He goes into games solely to affect and provoke officials, players and supporters of the opposition. Personally I prefer to win (and lose) games by honest endeavour. Quite frankly if you want to avoid becoming a second rate pointless club I'd stop advocating for Evans. Winning by his methods renders the whole game utterly pointless IMO.

 

Well here is the reason why I would hate him as manager
1 he is divisive some would like him others despise him how many female fans would welcome someone who flashed at a female employee of our club.
2, His recent record is poor
3 he likes to spend plenty which he wouldn’t be able to here
We need to get behind our next manager the only reason most people would get behind Evans is to give him a boot up His posterior

 

For anyone under any doubt over the job Parky did, see this:



Without doubt the best manager we have had in a long long time and the atmosphere on match days was comfortably the best in the league.
Don't see him coming back, but would love it to be true

Could you imagine if we managed to fluke a draw with Luton - the Twitter clamour for Fordy to get the job full time would be immense.

 

Go for Gary Jones and we get relegated.

How does he know the players? Commentating on the radio?
