OK let me try to work out the plan for you. It might get a little complicated so please bear with me.

Get promoted this season.
Stay up
Then get promoted again.
Sell the club
Stay up
Then get promoted again.

Why on earth would you want an incomplete training facility?

 

I do see your point Fordy, but he's not completely useless. "Ticking over" as you put it is not what we all would like, but for the time being at least he is keeping it ticking over while we wait for your mystery buyer. My worry is that he loses interest completely before thathappens

 

And to be honest Fordy I'm not expecting him to do any more. I don't know his reasons for buying the club ( I suspect an expensive boys toy ). He has no interest in football or Bradford so I suppose I am grateful that he is prepared to keep it ticking over (whatever his motive for this is), but I think it's only a matter of time before he loses interest

I have read umpteen posts on here from Fordy who seems to have a lot of time on his hands. If he really wants to make a difference why not examine the possibility of turning Bradford City into a fan owned club?
It has worked successfully for Hearts here in Edinburgh and being a German Rupp would be familiar with the concept.

 

Yes, I know what he was saying. The £10M evaluation is something I heard weeks ago from my usual source and Rupp apparently knocked back a couple of offers as none of them matched his asking price. Either RO knows something too and he started backtracking to suggest otherwise or it was nothing more than a coincidence. Either way though, if it is true the ridiculously high price tag is probably a clear indication that he doesn't want to sell.

 

Ok. I don't think he was back tracking because to me it was clear from his original post. That doesn't mean however that Rupp isn't setting too high a price. Maybe he wants his original investment back when quite obviously the club is worth less now. But it's about more than offers to buy the club. Do you know if the potential buyers have the funds and the desire to invest heavily over and above the purchase price?

 

Would you still go to a ground called "the hand car wash stadium" because that will be the name if fordy takes over there will be some sleeping on the streets of Bradford tonight with more money than him. Why do you think he always evades the answer when people ask him about purchasing the club.

 

Finally I agree with a post of yours.

He should rename himself Michael Howard. He never answered questions either.

 

Really, how much does it take per person? I've just read a post on Camra (sorry, I'll get me anorak) about the downfalls of investing in craft beer breweries. And this is an industry that is growing.

We get 14k on the gate on average. Matches approx the amount of season tickets we've sold. I suppose you could judge this number as our "hard core" fan base. However, we took 60k to Wembley. We've got 180k followers on Facebook. If everyone on FB donated a tenner, we'd get 1.8 million. Which in actually fact is f**k all. If everyone on FB donated 100 quid, then we'd get 18 million. Which is not bad, and would buy us our ground (which is the main thing that is stopping investors buying us), but while it's not bad, it's completely untrue. The real number is probably based around the 14k attendance, which means 100 quid turns into 1.4 million, which has been mentioned is fu?k all.

Fan based clubs work in a market where costs are low, and progression aren't much higher. Scotland and non league clubs are pretty much the same. Look at the "fan" based investors of Salford. Not really working out for them at the moment is it?

Rupp needs to either get engaged - is ANYONE from Bradford City FC or in fact the city trying to do this - or sell out to someone who has a bit of passion about the club. And in all fairness, who are they? McCall must have a few bob, same umm...I'm struggling, Beagrie maybe? Kamara? and some of the other ex players, but really, are they going to form some consortium? Doubt it.

We just have to hope Rupp gets a hard on for us soon
