Get used to it, it’s fourth division football. The players and coaches the three higher leagues don’t want.

Shite football and shiter antics, Rahics legacy will live on for a while yet. We just need to get out of this league asap!

It's up to bowyer now to figure out how to beat these teams. Because mark my words all away teams will come to VP and play like that.

It’s no different to the 6 seasons we spent in league 2 last time. Poor teams, shite tactics, awful officiating, all leading to extreme frustration for the fans. It’s gonna be a loooong season

To be fair I thought FG were fine.. it was use that got our tactics and formation wrong.

Showed a shi@t team too much respect.

Bowyer still looking for his bottle

We were shocking today but let’s be fair. We were terrible against Cambridge Utd, limped to a point at Grimsby and got battered by Stevenage but managed 3 points from an own goal assisted by terrible finishing from them. Oldham we were second best but finished better than they did. The team has zero pace, penetration or width. The back four are sound but that’s the only positive. The refs are shit in league 2 also. Bowyer looks like a man with limited ideas. A long long season ahead

Let’s get one thing straight. We have played 5 league games and have been second best in all the games. No midfield. No pace No width. Defence looks fairly solid but why keep changing formation week in week out. When at home be positive. Attack. !!!! this is League 2 and with the so called great recruitment we have made we should be winning at home in this division. Early doors but imo worrying and soon won’t be acceptable should it continue

All teams have so far, except Oldham, and they clearly had no idea what they were doing.

I agree that we showed them far too much respect.

Bowyer was obsessed with making sure we followed an absolute pattern, steadfastly refusing to allow them to try to play it out of the back.

All right, the goalkeeper's long kicks were useless and therefore the concept could be argued to have 'worked', but FGR did not look at all good enough to play through us in my opinion. We should have let them try to play it out, and capitalised on the inevitable mistakes. There was nobody in their back line that was good on the ball, and they had two or three quality players tops - both the Mills' were good, I'm not sure anyone else had anything to care about.

Yet we spent the whole game caring about what they were good at - and frankly, I found that friggin' pathetic.

Nah, you boys love it down here with us 'pub teams'. Don't you see? You're at home here, with all of us down in league 2. You're at peace now. Embrace your new life!

we won’t win football matches without being dominant on the ball and like others have already said that’s arguably 4 out of 5 matches that we’ve been the poorer side.

i can understand bowyer’s reasons for not wanting scannell to play 3 matches in a week and how due to other injuries he had to change the structure of the side but for all richards-everton’s attributes his distribution is woeful. going long to play off the front two isn’t working. the percentages of picking up the second ball in such confined spaces is low - we need to get better in working passages of play to try and break teams down, pull them out of shape and create space to work in. there’s no point in having players like palmer, cooke and devitt if we’re not going to get them on the ball. we need a centre-half that is comfortable bringing the ball in to midfield when teams are going to sit in - i wouldn’t be surprised to see paudie o’connor back next week.

as for FGR’s approach, personally i’ve no issue with a lot of it - we’ve done it before and we’ll do it again, we sh*thoused our way to 3 points on tuesday night at stevenage. it’s something we’re going to need to accept will happen a lot and rise to the challenge of beating it. nothing is going to come for free in this league.

Short memory boys. Don't you remember Ronnie Moores Tranmere? Cheated all the way through the game and beat us. It was that bad I gave their chairman a mouthful on the way out. Lots of poor teams last time we were here.

It depends how you view it. From a neutral view it was an even game, from a management view we were done over like a kipper. Cooper got his tactics bang on and on that basis they were the better side.

100%.. never in control of the game, hardly put any passes together, never really troubled their ‘keeper apart from from a couple of long throws, set-pieces were awful, went back to front more times than i care to remember hoping for something to drop from the front two. didn’t create anything of note. i struggle to see where, if you do think so, where we were the better team?

It’s a shit league and we deserve to be in it.
FGR tactics were dull as dishwater but you won’t be the only side to employ such spoiling tactics this year. I wouldn’t want to watch that dirge every week. As for City. We were so poor. Never took the game by the scruff of the neck as you would expect as a home game. We got what we deserved and unless we remove some of the shots that remain here from last years abhorrent season then we ain’t going to make any waves this year. It’s aktight having a fantastic front two. But if you don’t play to their strengths and give them some quality to feed on then they are redundant.
Matt Mills is as composed a centre half on the ball as we will possibly see this season. The rest of their side were average. But we were worse. Must improve. And quickly.

We played like an away side yesterday for large periods, letting them have possession and not respecting the football, I bet Cooper couldn't believe his luck. And we can't complain about their tactics when it's similar to how we played on Tuesday.

Not sure everyone does it. Mark Cooper has form for it. Did it ages ago with Swindon. Bad tactics. Players audibly being heard to stay down when they were challenged. Feigning injury then being ok straight away. Lots of dark arts. Needs a strong ref to stamp his mark early on but also needs players to stay calm as it can be frustrating. Get frustrated the opposition has achieved what it set out to do
