I'm going to hold it against Lewis that whenever we had a game on a knife edge in those last few Hughes outings, he ballsed up.

Hate him for that.

That said, I recognize that he's not actually that bad especially as a shot stopper, and was quality overall last season. He's in poor form overall, but the fact is, very few people instantly came to his defence here, and every week there's a question about why we don't have another keeper in the squad. I genuinely expected pelters for that hasty post calling him turd.

I'm just wondering if this is a one season wonder we have on our hands.

That comment about Lewis is ridiculous.
Questions about the second but even given his fumble for the first which led to a corner, he wasn’t to blame.
After that he was the difference between conceding near double figures tonight,

How was he at fault for the first? It was the defence and midfield ball watching and leaving a man with a free shot on goal. The corner was Lewis’ fault but that didn’t cost us the goal.

If he'd been on his line, he'd have spilled it into the net. Instead, he spilled it out for a totally unnecessary corner they scored from. It was awful from Lewis.

Yes the simple corner routine should have been defended, but there's no letting Lewis off the hook for that one I'm afraid. A real howler.

 

I honestly can not fathom out how you 2 can defend Lewis. He is garbage, I can only think you guys don't get to many games but if you do then we must be looking in opposite directions. Lewis made 2 glaring errors last night leading to the first 2 goals. Major gaffe at Tranmere, and nearly all other games this season he drops a bollock. I've said countless times his reactionary shot stopping is his only positive. His distribution, kicks, command of his area and general decision making are absolutely woeful. Last season was a one-off, and that is with him dropping some clangers then as well

If we have nobody to push players, then they become extremely complacent and useless to our cause. We have seen this all season with both Lewis & Cook

 

But we lost 4-1?? Either result would be a hammering, and an unacceptable one at that

Mark my words this will be a constant recurring theme all season and will cost us dearly. But at the end of it, when we have yet another mid-table finish, people like you will still put Lewis on a pedestal just because he screams "up the fecking chickens" down the camera when we win

 

I'd also question the 3rd, getting beat on the near post like that.

 

Yes he was instrumental in the defeat however there is no doubt about it he won us the points at Wimbledon

 

Agreed, but it’s his mistakes that give the opposition a foothold in the game.
At Tranmere he gifted them their opener and last night he gifted them a corner which they scored from and then had holes in his hands for their 2nd just after we’d got ourselves back into the game.
There have also been other incidents this season where he’s cost us goals at key moments in the game.

 

He absolutely did not! The new manager bounce and high press won us that game. Lewis made 1 vital save, i'd expect any keeper to do the same over 90 minutes whether it is the Premier League or Sunday League
